About
You're smart. You roll few dice, get few points. It's enough. Time to bank... but wait-
You're smarter. One more roll. Perfect, double your points. Just one more.
You're a genius. You keep winning. You're the chosen one. The dice love you. One more roll and you take it all.
You're stupid. You lose it all. You swear they're judging you.
Restart.

Unlike the other copycats where you get better with Meta progression or by unlocking better items, in this game (despite having Meta Progression and unlocking items) you progress by understanding the game better. This game is incredibly complicated at first, and it seems like it will take an eternity to complete, but the more you play the better you get at risk management and learning how to risk it all - but smarter
I've always enjoyed games in which you weigh continuing for more points against the risk of losing what you have, and Dice Have No Eyes largely revolves around this mechanic. Unlike similar games, you will always have an unlimited number of tries to raise your score and can continue long after surpassing the goal. The round only ends when you either choose to walk away or push too far and lose it all. Most dice in the game have a pink 1 which gives you a strike when rolled. Too many strikes and you lose all your accumulated unbanked points and one of your attempts for the round. Striking out on your final attempt will end the run and forfeit any unbanked meta currency. There are dice in the shop with extra pink sides, giving you extra chances to fail. Dice also have a health limit and some will take damage instead of giving you a strike when rolling 1. While these will not give you a strike, once they shatter you will be down a die for the round which makes it significantly more difficult to earn points, and you lose the opportunity to sell a die once it breaks. There are items that increase the number of strikes it takes to lose, but every die is a d6 and the odds of landing on any one side generally remain the same. Another noteworthy mechanic is the "instant wipe." Get a strike on every selected die and you will go bust even if you had more strikes remaining. This makes rolling a single die to fix a straight super dangerous. There is also a "momentum" mechanic that raises your multiplier for every hand you turn in before banking your points. Together, you are generally better off submitting every hand you get rather than aiming for specific things. Boss stages shake this up with effects like damaging your dice every time you submit a hand or giving negative points to certain types of hand. Dice Have No Eyes has an interconnected node system for its meta unlocks. Each node has a title such as "More Spells" which obviously adds more spells to the shop's selection. However, you won't actually know what those spells are until you spend your stars to unlock the node. Thankfully the shop is divided into distinct sections, so extra snacks won't make it harder to find trinkets. I never really got a super synergistic build going, but I also never felt like I needed one to succeed as good management of the core systems seems to give plenty of points. Most unlocks aside from characters have relatively low requirements. Characters require gold stars earned from winning a full run, so that can take a while. Between the two the game does not feel super grindy but will take some effort to unlock everything. The game also has some whimsical charm to it. Certain items take effect by feeding them to a specific die, and when you hold such an item your dice will chase it with their mouths open. The title screen allows you to click any option, but you also have the choice to roll a die and start a match if it rolls a 6 or quit if it rolls a 1. If you abuse an unfair die, an entity calling itself "God" will appear and destroy it. The game has a distinct atmosphere that stands out from its more serious competitors, and I appreciate it. Dice Have No Eyes is a game I thoroughly enjoy and I can see it being my go-to for casual score-attack play. It has some charming quirks while its core gameplay is simple yet very solid. I would recommend this game to anyone who is willing to go double or nothing on a coin flip.
I'm not that far in, but despite that I've found myself so absolutely addicted that I really wanted say something. This game has to much charm and oozes a really lovely yet bizarre aesthetic that I love seeing when something new gets unlocked. Plus the little things like the dice turning into gross baby birds wanting snacks or the funny descriptions in Star Guts really tie it all together. Helps to offset the rage I feel when I roll 5 1s in a row and wanna flip my ♥♥♥♥ from being at lvl 9 and then losing it all. Then the next run I hit a chain on full house and it feels like I just won Vegas. The endless it's so over/we're so back has me locked in. I love this game and can't wait to see what comes next. It fills me with joy to see there's always good games out there still, so thank you twitter for showing this one
This game is a whole vibe. Love it
I wanna recommend this so bad. Pls help. This is one of the cutest, most stylish and charming games I have ever played. You can flip a middle finger and if you do the fish f off. Adorable. You can tickle the dice and they will poop out stars. omg. Proved to me the validity of the effect that human consciousness has on random number generators (the game with all its cutesy feral psychic-occultism dreamspace aesthetic cheekily notes "this is a game about talent" which some would attribute to gambling talent while I attribute to psychic talent) next level in the art form. The nearly perfect execution of several main components of a game are there, in visual art form and tone and gameplay loop, but the absence of some important QOL is so disruptive to the almost-addictive gameplay loop that I simply cannot play this game that I find so adorable for very long. We should certainly be able to disable or undo upgrades not suited to our playstyle as I've seen others mention and IMO the climb to the second rung of character and world unlocks could be a little easier. Honestly think I might have missed something because I'm stuck at what feels like the first 10% of the game. Cute af, but I want more even though I am generally bad at games. I get the sense that the dev(s) are solely awakened eclectic AUDHDGenius artists and I love that but I know firsthand that the work of those(us) must be tempered by another, inverse genius whose lack is sorely felt.
you can play as a guy
Chilled out balatro
The concept, art, and sound design are quite good. But the rest... Random bustes, several different types of consumables to buy, and trinkets that are too situational to be useful. The way you earn stars is also really weird — you bank a small amount and stop earning, or risk losing everything. All of these things are very annoying.
Gorgeous art. Get a shield and solve all your problems by throwing coins at them
Feels like Balatro on acid with dice instead of cards. Love the games these fellas make and this is no exception, 10/10 would king fetus again
