I really like this game, the issues for me is the glitches, like, was this play tested at all? Anybody play it to make sure bugs were minimal? It really feels like this game was rushed out. Hopefully the devs will release patches for it soon. Issues I've had: When I press D to open the relationship chart, it is blank and I can't get off that screen. Only solution is to go back to main menu. Missing text for a medical visit. Challenges get really messed up pretty easily. Also the FISHING SYSTEM ISN'T GOOD!!! A spear can go directly through the fish, but I don't catch it. It is incredibly obvious that this game was made for console, which isn't bad, but also annoying when there are challenges that are next to impossible on keyboard, and there is no way to change the controls, which are also super wacky and not normal. My suggestion for people planning on buying this is 1: Wait until it's on sale or 2: Wait for them to update and patch things up. This game has a lot of potential, but it's really buggy and feels unfinished at this point in time.
merge challenge
worst game i ever played
Here is the corrected version: This is a slight recommendation and the only review I've ever posted on Steam. Like every other review of this game on Steam, it has a good foundation and a lot of potential to be great. I would only recommend it to fans of the show. Being someone who has wanted a decent Survivor game for the longest time, I feel like I tend to be more critical with the issues in the game. There are a lot of issues that, with a quick update, could be fixed fairly easily, such as stamina depletion, AI tribe mates not contributing to resources, being eliminated at the merge challenge, and awkward/limited dialogue with other tribe mates. Hopefully, we can get an update for this game. But even with the issues that this game has, I still enjoy playing it.
Purchased this for $10 on sale, just to see if it had any qualities that scratch an itch as a long-time Survivor Fan. While it was a somewhat fun way to wash away $10 for a few hours, that's about all this game has. I actually did not have much issue maintaining stamina but man, the social dynamics/dialogue in this game are horrendous. You have no ability to customize your experience with the dialogue. Additionally, you can't play an idol on other cast members. On my second run through, I made it to the final two, expecting to have some control over swaying the jury with dialogue options, to find out that the jury was voting for the winner already lol. Lost a 5-1 vote. Did the creators even watch this show? 2 runs is all I needed to never come back to this game again. This game is worse than most free games out there. No clue where they got a $25 price out of this.
I FINALLY WON AFTER THE FINAL CHALLENGE GLITCHED AND I WAS FORCED TO HAVE MY FATE IN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SAMI'S HANDS SAMI BROUGHT THE WRONG MF TO THE FINALE ♥♥♥♥♥
This game is not good. You probably know that already. There are two main reasons for this. One is forgivable: modeling complex social dynamics in a way that feels satisfying is really hard, perhaps impossible. One is not: the developers have not attempted to make a product that is good, and the game feels both unfinished/poorly playtested and conceptually poor from the outset. Pros, of which there are few: +The minigames are better than I expected. The final challenge in particular actually approaches being fun, and if they'd put that much effort into all of them I'd be saying they exceeded my expectations. Most of them are easy; I find it more interesting to throw most of the immunity challenges as a result. +I guess the graphics and music could be worse? Cons: -The stamina system. Compared to other reviews, I will defend it a bit here: it's not gamebreaking or impossible. You just have to figure out how to game it: for example, coconuts are complete and utter trash, and you should ignore them. The fact that you have to work out how this system works before you can really play the game at all, though, isn't great. Winning the reward challenges is all but mandatory. -The AI players in general. They do nothing around camp and then often get mad at you for not doing enough even though you did 10x more than they did, which... just feels wrong. It's also disappointing that they don't initiate strategy or seem to have any real agenda of their own -- they're just pieces for the player to manipulate, which is not hard to do. -The social element. It's impossible to tell what the right answer is in conversations due to the translation, you just have to learn by guessing. You will know when you've chosen the wrong answer because your character will randomly be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for no reason. I found it more effective to spam the "chit-chat" option rather than even try to engage with this system. The other players' dialogue is deeply uninteresting. -Replay value. The two 'seasons' are exactly the same, except that in brains vs. brawn the characters have the exact same backstories as the first season's characters but they've added something brain- or brawn-related and the already stupid group events are a little different. Once you get the hang of the stamina system, how to make other players like you and vote how you want, you're only in any danger during the first couple rounds or if you take an idol to the face. I have played only 5 games, several of which ended almost immediately, and now feel confident I could win 95% of the time. -The merge instant elimination challenge. Just a bad idea and not fun. I was never eliminated by it, but the timer on the puzzle one in particular is unforgiving as hell. -The translation. It's bad. You can tell no one asked a native English speaker to edit this. -Authenticity. If you're here for the Survivor brand, iconic music, the feel of playing Survivor, look elsewhere -- this is an off-brand game with the Survivor logo and some random player names from seasons 25-28 (why???) & 43 slapped on. On the whole, I recommend looking into online reality games if you want to play Survivor - video games just haven't figured this one out.
This game is actually really good, only problem I have with it is that it doesn't let you name your character and only 12 castaways, hopefully they will update the game and add more features
i can't refund the game bro come on
