Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Sep 7 → 24.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome home! The award-winning sci-fi city builder is back - remastered, expanded, and more stunning than ever. Your mission: colonize Mars and survive the process, from exploration and infrastructure to welcoming human colonists and achieving long-term stability. There are new challenges to overcome, new strategies to plan, and now with an upgraded look and feel for a new generation of explorers.
All you need for this relaunched mission to create a thriving Martian settlement is a steady supply of resources, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms… and a curious attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere. With a bit of sprucing up, this place is going to be awesome!
Surviving Mars: Relaunched brings together the original colony management game from Haemimont Games, its entire catalogue of expansions, improved and reworked, from major expansions to cosmetics and radio stations, as well as the all-new Martian Assembly update. Upgraded graphics together with updated UI will give veteran players the definitive Surviving Mars experience, and provide an ideal launch point for new commanders as well.
Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.
The new Martian Assembly brings an expanded endgame challenge never seen in the original. Shape your Martian society through laws. Balance the needs and demands of your colonists, keep the peace and develop a long-term plan for Mars - up to and including independence from Earth!

Building a thriving colony on a planet not fit for human life brings its own challenges. Construct life-support systems, power grids, domes, and supply chains, and keep them running, because blackouts on a planet without oxygen are never a good idea. And you’re not alone. With the included ‘Space Race’ expansion, rival colonies backed by competing sponsors add even more pressure as you fight for resources and the future of Mars.

Balance critical resources like oxygen, water, power, and food to keep your colony alive. Drones build and maintain your infrastructure, while the revamped ‘Martian Express’ adds trains that move people and supplies across longer distances. Every colonist has their own needs and behaviors and smart management is essential for their survival.

Advance your colony through a deep research system that unlocks new buildings, production methods, and essential upgrades. Discover breakthroughs, resources, and hidden secrets reaching ‘Below & Beyond’ the Martian surface. With randomized maps, varied sponsors, and unpredictable Mysteries, every playthrough offers new challenges, and every decision shapes your story of survival and growth on Mars.

Terraforming is no longer a distant dream, it’s your next challenge. With the included ‘Green Planet’ expansion, you can engineer Mars into a more habitable world. As the environment transforms, introduce animal life with ‘Project Laika’, bringing the first creatures to thrive alongside your colonists. The future of Mars isn’t just survival, it’s building a self-sustaining, living planet.
If you're a new player, this game is honestly pretty good...
I received a free copy of the original Surviving Mars, and it quickly became an unexpected favorite of mine. However, I didn’t bother buying any of the DLCs at the time. Hearing that the developers were working on a "remake/remaster" was exciting, and I admit I bought the Ultimate Edition on day one. I couldn't actually play it on launch day, though, as my computer was having some issues. The game is admittedly very similar to the original, but it includes all the DLCs along with several noticeable improvements. While many players reported technical problems, I personally didn’t experience many bugs and those I did encounter were negligible. Would it be weird for me to say I actually enjoyed this game? It has been a genuinely fun experience for me.
Still doesn't change the fact that many people were ripped off...
I completely understand the frustration of those who paid for the original game and all its DLCs, only to see the original unlisted and replaced by a "better" remaster that requires a second purchase. The negative reviews are entirely justifiable. Paradox Interactive should have provided this version for free to players who already owned the complete original collection.
Conclusion
For new players, I think this game is great and I highly recommend it. It can be a bit stressful due to the heavy micromanagement required, but once you reach the late-game and your systems are stabilized, expanding your colony is incredibly satisfying.
Linux and Proton
I play this game on CachyOS Linux via Proton-CachyOS. Performance has been excellent, and I have rarely faced any technical issues.

totally bugged -> played >12hrs on one map, very late stage meteors are not destroyed by lasers anymore (i built many of them...) and destroy all domes, gas reserves, wonders, .... Fun in the beginning, but as soon as ypu have a big colony not anymore
Still work in progress - Not worth full price for returning players

It's good and for the new players 'might' be worth the full price
The game is overall good. I have over 400 hours in the original with all expansions and this game only improves the balancing and better integration of all the expansions it includes. If you are new player, wanting a Mars colonization/terraforming game, then I recommend go ahead.
However... Bugs!
If you are a fan of the original and you have other games you are interested in, then I think you should still wait. I 'finished' only one playthrough with Wildfire crisis and encountered several annoying bugs, including but not limited to; Rockets asking for cure kept arriving after the crisis ended. Out of dome animal farm would show as non functioning and without colonists even though the colonists were literally assigned there. Drones in the underground were completely non functional and didn't follow orders unless micro managed.
After patch 1.0.7
Played out another scenario and this time I found no serious bugs. I believe there were still a few but in no way gameplay breaking, or even annoying. I can now recommend to new buyers with no caveats. For returning players... If you liked the base/original game and want to play more, then sure, go ahead. The core experience is however the same.
There are several bugs that were there in the original game, you released a new version with the same bugs. Some may have been fixed but the fact some are still there tells a lot about what has been done. Yes, the graphic is new and the DLC have been added to the final game, but trains are still bugged, colonists still walk out of domes and suffocate and several other glitches like terrain "flat but not flat to build" are still there like in the original game. The UI is severely lacking, several keybinds have been removed, it requires multiple clicks even for the simplest things. Managing the colony is a chore, in some places CTRL does something, in some other it doesn't, the colony recap is useless because you can't interact with anything, it's impossible to manage the colony from the "map" because... who knows, trains tracks don't allow errors because they delete ALL THE LINE, and I could go on. The "policy and laws" system is tacked on, it's too easy to max everything and after a while it becomes annoying: "yes I know the church of the ark is upset but they are asking me to do quests I CANNOT DO so let's get over with it". I'm sorry but this is not good enough for a "positive" review or neither a "relaunch".
I love this game: it is a peaceful, interesting, puzzle-like strategy game with plenty atmosphere. If you own the original, wait until the bugs are ironed out in this version before buying it. If you have never played before, consider this carefully. The original had its issues, but these are in the expansions. This version bakes game-breaking bugs into the core gameplay loop. Yes, updates are coming. Yes, it is in active development, which the original was not, but only to sell more expansion packs. Those of us playing now are unpaid quality assurance and it is criminal that companies are allowed to get away with this. The advertising specifically laboured that the bugs were ironed out, the gameplay improved. Even avoiding fundamental issues in previous-expansion content, things like trains and asteroids, I cannot complete all milestones without encountering something game-breaking. All of these are reported, but it will take more months for the programmers to fix this buggy mess. The early game is fun; I still love the gameplay, but the way this specific product is being sold is thievery.
Paradox have outdone themselves
I have a ridiculous amount of time in the original surviving mars (615.5 hours according to my profile) and based on the reviews I was a bit reluctant to try the relaunched version - but it has been a hot minute to work out some bugs, it's on sale, and I genuinely have always appreciated the original dev's work so I thought why not try it? So I have. I have encountered far fewer bugs now than I do in my copy of the original game (The original still seizes at times when I played it - I have yet to see this version seize at all! Other people have had this problem, but I haven't. It actually *IS* running smoother for me), which is great. I am actually using the train DLC now. I would recommended it to new players looking for something a bit chill, which is how I use it. As for old players? I honestly think there's far fewer bugs and it's worth supporting the devs as they fix and update the game; I for one don't expect endless free content. Maybe wait on sales, though. I genuinely love this game. It's not for everyone, but it's absolutely one of my favorites and I think it's worth trying. Watch some lets plays about it and if it looks appealing to you give it a try.
Great game, chill vibe. If you enjoy city builders and sci-fi, it is a must for you. Longer version (mainly for owners of the original): As of v1.07, the game is in a better state than the original, with improvements coming with each patch. While the new rocket mechanics take a minute to understand, they are a great improvement, as it is now virtually impossible to 'accidentally' launch an empty rocket, and you can export far more resources to Earth with a single rocket, or even export Exotic Minerals. Asteroids are now fun and worth visiting early, and even the underground holds more appeal, since you can now build any surface domes there and the elevator mechanics are much improved. Sure, there are still issues, but the devs are working hard to improve the game, with 7 patches so far since release, each bringing fixes and gameplay enhancements, so I will give them my trust, for now. We also have 2 incoming dlc's, so that support won't stop for a while. I know some reviewers/OG players have issues with the publisher's alleged bad business practices, and I do sympathise having been burnt myself, but if you can see past that, the game is great right now, and looks to get even better as development continues. Recommended.
