It's a fun, accessible survival crafting game that doesn't punish the player out the gate. Wish the combat were more robust, but as far as native VR games go, there aren't too many like this. Not a top tier game, but pretty good. Easy recommend for fans of the genre.
Half the objects in the game do nothing. Oxygen tanks are supposed to refill your air when you plug them into the back of your hand, but they just sit there and let you suffocate. This means there's very quickly nothing to do in the game, because without a functioning air supply, you can't wander around more than 100 yards or so from the hab. Developers haven't responded to this issue in the forums, so... I quit playing. I would refund, but I played longer than 2 hours before figuring out that most of the stuff in this game simply doesn't work. Add in that there's absolutely nothing tying this game to the previous game in the series except for the fact that it's supposedly on Mars... this left a bad taste in my mouth; will look twice at anything from Bolverk Games in the future.

ive been playing surviving mars for years. this is way better once you learn how things work
I got this game on a whim and it is probably one of my favorites. It way over shot my expectation. I've only played for 12 hours so far but that was in 2 sittings. It plays like a cheap VR title but quickly expands into a full fledged game. In order not to drag this i will list the likes and dislikes. Likes: straight forward and physically interactive controls, fun use of the player hands and body (like reaching over your shoulder to grab your back pack), immersive survival stats, great use of post processing to establish atmosphere, you cant eat through your helmet you have to go inside for that, the use of scaling doesn't fee compact (you start with basically nothing and scale up quickly, and It's just genuinely fun to see what the upgrades and unlocks bring next. The things I didn't particularly enjoy in this game are few but big enough to mention. Building in this game could use some quality of life adjustments. Its difficult to line stuff up despite using a grid. I like the grid snapping but the buildings are huge and this doesn't translate to VR very well. In other words I'ts hard to aim at the ground with any precision even with great tracking. The next thing may not apply to everyone depending on your device. I use index controllers. When driving vehicles (which is super fun BTW) you gave to grip the controllers super tight. Usually this can be adjusted in the steam vr settings but changing the settings doesn't do anything. Its not so bad that it becomes unplayable but after a while your hands get sore. The only other thing i don't like is the loading screens across the segments of the map. HOWEVER i completely understand this is to reduce strain on your device so it's more commendable than it is problematic. If you like interplanetary survival, base building, mining, exploration, tech expansion games then try it out. If you agree or disagree write a comment. I think this game has big community potential. Also if i was wrong about something let me know too.
Great VR and story line.

After a few minutes getting used to the controls, and overcoming the minor VR sickness while turning, which would be eliminated by sitting in a chair that spins or standing, I did neither, this game is both fantastic, and beautiful.
