Very addictive, very realistic

IMO the most realistic geopolitical simulator. The ammount of quality mods and forum topics are insane compared to later games in the series. The times i got my army wiped out because of my mistakes made it so much fun. It takes some time to go on the offensive. First you need to make sure you have the military goods and units to wage war. Attack some weak countries to get the population where you can compete with the superpowers, if your are not playing as one, build your economy and the snowball keeps rolling bigger and bigger. In later series developpers left paradox, features are not fully fleshed out, and the features they add are basicly only for players. Like suport opposition where you get casus bellie AND improve your economy in an artificial way. Or regions that loose their whole army because they added merchant marines that get killed in all kind of buggy ways as soon they leave port. There is no competition at all in later series and i never again lost a war, so boring. The biggest issue is that you can't change core issues as modder. So buy this game for 3 dollar on sale, to let paradox know we need a good modern geopolitical simulator. Not goverment sponsored propaganda.

Szerintem a kategóriájában nagyon jó játék! Lenne mit csiszolni rajta, de az, hogy bármilyen fegyvert használhatsz, hogy bombákat és rakétákat tudsz indítani, hogy repülőgéphordozókat tudsz csatába küldeni, ez messze az egyik legszélesebb körű egységeket biztosító stratégiai játékká emeli. Az összes Supreme Ruler közül ez a legjobb.

This game is pretty fun, but it has a very steep learning curve. Also, because this game was made back in' '08 the 'fast' setting isn't very fast at all. Which for some people might not be a problem since wars are fought very methodically, however this isn't the case when you are simply trying to build up your econ. so a year is going to take about 2-3 hours. I might be slightly exaggerating but its painful. I find that it's better to auto trade everything and alt tab from the game for 5-10 minutes at a time. If you are thinking about getting into a game that has complex economical platforms a complex geopolitical sphere: get it's updated brother so it's quicker a more balanced. The AI tends to be a little derpy in this version

GREAT GAME

Do lots of detail mean lots of fun? Not to me. For a strategy nut, maybe so. I do like having all the scenarios, and the chance to play just about any country. Even a tiny one like Costa Rica.
