RIP-OFF
A worthy addition to the top down shooter genre, superstatic definitely succeeds in providing an engaging gaming experience. It is worth mentioning that The keystone mechanic, possessing enemies, doesn't really change all that much about the gameplay; What it does do is allow you to approach the levels in a far more aggessive manner with possessed guards then, once they're expended, playing more methodically with the protagonist. While not as stylistically driven as the most prominent comparison, Hotline Miami, the game feels tight and very satisfying, definitely worth picking up for the reasonable pricetag.
A really enjoyable top-down shooter(ish) in the tradition of other fast-paced games such as the venerable Doom, promising no-holds-barred combat and intuitive yet novel mechanics. I refer to it as a shooter(ish) because your primary weapon is not your gun - rather, your ability to create a spectral double of sorts and use it in an increasing variety of ways, from possessing enemies to turn them against their allies as a sort of ablative second life for yourself, to passing through a wall to deal with door locks, and even as a rudimentary explosive to deal with otherwise lethal concentrations of enemies. Full disclosure: I have beta tested this game before it came onto Steam, meaning my time with it on Steam is rather low, but would still thoroughly recommend it.
Between Bloodbath Kavkaz and Hotline Miami, there's now Superstatic (former Technicolour Rain), leaning hard on the former. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj_DNX2ZaHw While now slightly outdated, the above video is still mostly true and looks at vast similarities between Hotline Miami and this game, from style to execution. It's pretty much the same game, only worse.
This game is is simple and fun, the game itself doesn't look impressive in graphics. But while playing through it I got a little addicted and didnt notice how long I've been playing it for. If you're looking for a game that simple and fun. Get Superstatic! TLDR: Simple, Fun, Cheap. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrW18oQZDII
ХОТЛАЙН МАЯМИ ДЛЯ БЕДНЫХ!
Has potential but I can't recommend at this point. Issues I have: -Power boxes needed to refill the power bar are too hard to see, they blend in with the environment. -I found myself at the beginning of sections with all the ammo depleted from my gun, whether this is purposefully done or not it means quickly getting killed by enemies in my line of sight. I then respawn again with my empty gun to repeat the process. -Enemies in doorways are hard to possess. -I couldn't get the 'explode' ability to work beyond the first level. -Story and soundtrack are dull and uninteresting. -I had to unplug my controller to use the mouse.
Хорошая игра на пару вечеров, хорошая музыка и графическая составляющая, и да чем то напомнило хотлайм майами, в целом я рекомендую.
Been playing this game since Sekaru started making it and it sure has come a long way. The mechanics in it are different and there's quite a bit of challenge in it. Fun game if you get bored.
