SUPERHOT is the smash-hit FPS where time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It's you, alone, outnumbered and outgunned. Snatch weapons from fallen enemies to shoot, slice and dodge through a truly cinematic hurricane of slow-motion bullets.

This is a good game. It is the most innovative shooter I've played in years, but the game gets a little too lost in thinking that it tricked me into saying that. The great gameplay is often buried in the game's frankly outplayed meta-narrative, and I really wish they'd just focused their efforts on making more great stages instead.

A great indie game, worth it even for a full price, but a sale makes it even better. This game is, weirdly enough, mostly a puzzle game. You're thrown into a situation, how do you kill everyone else as efficiently as possible. I enjoy how all the various challenges throw me into the same maps, but due to how they work, it doesn't feel repetitive and instead forces you to adapt and play differently, keeping it fresh. It has a bizarre story too, I disliked how they forced me to take a break from the cool gameplay, but it's really damn unique, so I can't complain too much. The only problem is that the game doesn't really offer infinite replayability unlike some other indie gems, but it's still a fun 15-20 hours of playtime.
Aspects
Singleplayer - FPS - Time Manipulation Rating: 9.5/10 Replay value: Yes
Thoughts
Incredibly well made game. I played this back on xbox, and to this day it's one of the most unique takes on an FPS game that I've tried. There's a lot of content past the main storyline, and they put a lot of effort into creating a technological + dystopian atmosphere through all aspects of the game (music, menus, UI). I really enjoyed playing this and I hope their second game is just as successful. Really the only thing I disliked about the game were 2 specific achievements, which didn't necessarily require skill - instead they were more just time consuming, and achievements like those can get very boring for me. Of course, if you don't plan on 100%ing the game then it won't affect you. Overall though, no complaints and I highly recommend giving this a go.
