Review as of 16-Apr-2022

Intro
An interesting puzzle solving platformer
What I like
- Can be done in 1 run - Alot of secrets to be unlock - Puzzles are ranging from beginner to intermediate -
interesting concept of reversing time
- I like the setting of the story and how the protag's involvement is -
Ending does indicate as though there's a second game, or more chapters

What I don't like
- there's not much communication between the devs and community in discuession - There's bugs where on the audio settings - The starting of the game there's vocals reading the game but it just didn't continue when heading to later chapter - The story speed was too fast to be read and can't be change - For the way how the puzzle proceeded and planned,
the last boss is too easy. like really really too easy for it to be a boss. the patterns are really repetitive and no challenge to it, The stages puzzle were much better designed than the boss stage.

Others
- stream wise, game was stream on twitch.tv/execell_is_here - there's an issue with the game category as it share the same name as another game. - i normally recommend games but with the issues on the bugs at this point, and also the lack of responses from the game devs, it really feels, in my humble opinion, the game devs isn't taking the community seriously in regards to bugs and responses. I dont feel right recommending the game as it is now.
Not a bad game. Needs polishing, specially with the parkour and enemies, both are kinda inconsistent (jumps feel kinda weird and mines sometimes don't explode when shot) Overall a decent puzzle game with interesting mechanics
Не очень сложная головоломка с приятной музыкой. Если не обращать внимание на сюжет, который сам на себя не обращает внимание, а так же не обращать внимание на босса в конце, то пойдет на вечер отвлечься.
Split is a very interesting game. The artstyle and music are really unique and put you in the right mood for a nice puzzle game experience! There's a big amount of secrets to be discovered and finding them feels rewarding. I feel like the earlier levels are more inspired then the later ones but overall is a nice experience
As an avid fun of short one-off puzzle games, this one caught my eye with its aesthetic and seemingly somewhat unique concepts of cloning with actions. I stopped at around 3/4 of the 20 levels however because it became so incredibly tedious and lacking. The first handful of chambers were enjoyable enough, introducing new concepts to work with. But around level 12 and after, it turns into a mix of trial & error and repeatedly shooting buttons or jumping on platforms to get through larger and larger rooms. The physics aren't good and the puzzles aren't conceptually hard, just poorly indicated and tedious to accomplish. Overall, just an unfun experience. (Also the cutscenes and dialogue are incredibly cringeworthy to boot)
If you're a fan of games like Portal and Ghostrunner I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the great work that's on display in this game. The visuals are great and each level has something to gawk at, especially if you are a fan of cyber punk aesthetics. The music is very chill and perfect for the cyberpunk vibe, harkening very closely to that of Blade runner's soundtrack. My biggest complaint is that the game is very short at the moment, but the devs have said they are planning to expand after some feedback on the current state of the game! There's a minor issue I found with the sprinting and it would not activate consistently which made a few platforming moments frustrating, the end boss is very undercooked and a weak way to send the game off, the structure of the game upfront is a bit stilted as the game makes you pause your actions so it can say things to you, and the story presentation leaves much to be desired, along with the voice acting and some of the writing. But the core experience of this game is the puzzles and the visual audio experience, and in that regard I was thoroughly satisfied and am happy to recommend despite a few bumps in the road. Again if you want a good puzzle game that is interesting the entire time with plenty of fun secrets to find in each level, this is an easy purchase to recommend! Классная игра, если доработать и сделать поинтереснее и разнообразнее уровни, особенно главного босса и починить ачивки, то составит хорошую альтернативу Портал.
i had high hopes for this game. i love portal, and the mechanics looked interesting. at the start, the story was kinda interesting, kinda iffy, but alright. the puzzles tended to be interesting, with different mechanics introduced, and some decently cool moments. some of the environments were pretty cool too. unfortunately, this game was much less than i hoped for. i had mouse sensitivity issues thought the whole game, the subtitles didn't match the va, they stopped all together halfway through, some of the achievements are i'm pretty sure impossible, and the final boss was so boring and repetitive. on top of that, death felt meaningless because you could just rewind time, and the platforming that was seemingly hamfisted into the game was tedious at best, and frustrating to no end at worst. the game was also so hard to look up, because the words after split are ALL part of the tiltle. the secrets are cool, but their just kinda there. i wish i could love this game, but it falls short in so many ways. dont get the game, not in its current state.
Not a bad game with interesting puzzle ideas, but the overall feel of the puzzle mechanics is tedious. The level design is okay but also makes you feel disoriented, especially with the weird texture choice. And the story itself is a miss for me, especially the start that, outright confused me and bored me with useless dialog. As of now, the game does require some more polish especially in the story design and a bit in level redesign area, but other then that, the base idea of the game is solid and I will gladly return to it someday. If I could, I would give this game a "sort of" rating and not a straight up no.
Too much dialog and story for a simple puzzle game.
