[/url] [/u] Title: Super Woden GP Summary: Top-down racing game Personal notes: Super Woden GP is a old school top-down racing game. You race through different events ranging from Championships to Rally or weekend events. I found it to be very reminiscent of older Gran Turismo games but with an aerial view instead of first person. I enjoyed the classic retro art design and maps. I also enjoyed the soundtrack to a certain extent but was eventually lead to turning it off after multiple repeats. I thought that the manufacturers were well made along with a pretty extensive list of more than 70 regional cars from various points in racing history. I found the handling system to be difficult but rewarding after a slight learning curve. I ran into no issues running this game which was nice as well. Achievement-wise this game is pretty straight-forward but quite time consuming. I listed the ones I had the most difficulty with below. Two relating to the final, World Championship, while the other two are just really long distance achievements. Overall I really enjoyed my time with this game, despite the long grind for kilometres at the end of all of the events. It is a little bit of a niche genre but if you enjoy racing games I feel like you will enjoy this one, especially for its asking price. Time it took to complete: 28hrs Most difficult achievement(s): - Hardcore driver (You have won the World Championship playing on Hard level.) - Superstar (You have won the world championship with a reputation higher than 8'5.) - 3000/5000 KM! (You have driven more than 3,000/5,000 kilometers.) Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ 6/10 Overall rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ 7/10
El famoso indie de Gran Turismo Parece facil cuesta agarrarle la mano, es excelente la dificultad que tiene y la felicidad que te da ganar una simple carrera 10/10
Honestly for me it's a no. I'm glad i got it at 3€, but the game feels unpolished, and suffers from many gameplay elements that I'm not sure how they ended up being in the game. Barriers are magnetic, and once you are near them, the car will get pulled nearby. The fact that if you touch them with the BACK of your car you're still slowed down ruins everything. This happens because the AI is not there to race with you, but just to ANNIHILATE you. Pushing to the side, blocking and any other thing you'd expect from a dirty driver in an online lobby. Cars are ok aside the ones that are in the "drifting" category. Most of them are skidding too much and are basically undriveable despite having "handling" all topped up. "Grip" is the only real thing I noticed improves a car aside obviously "power", which is not nearly as important anyway because "grip" means you can brake later, follow tighter lines and generally have a better lap. Tracks are disjointed and the "out of track" area is not distinguishable in many tracks, resulting in loss of speed and slowing down by going what looked like a safe zone. AI has some combo of character+car that have a 110% speed boost or something like that, often keeping up with your car that has higher PP or CV. This also means that on higher "one car" lobbies like the Sivi challenge or other, you just need to reach the 1st place and then DESTROY the second racer because it otherwise catches up no matter what. Maybe I went in expecting too much, seeing this always at 6-7€ in these months, but overall it's an "ok if you're into this kind of arcade game with stacks against you". Not recommended at full price, but if you manage to get it for 3/4€, it's ok. P.S. Cloud saves between Pc/Deck are broken
Oddly enough, a competitive sim racing friend recommended Woden GP series to me. He said that it is arcadey enough to be fun yet includes a surprising amount of physics and a lot of content. Well, it's spot-on, this racing game was a pleasant surprise for me. Definitely it was made by fans of '90s top-down arcade race games like Death Rally (minus death) or Micro Machines (minus micro). It's fun. I'm a fan of some more hardcore top-down racers like GeneRally or Circuit Superstars, especially on long journeys with a Steam Deck but make no mistake, Super Woden GP has a great difficulty curve to be challenging. It is a nice addition to my Deck collection as it has a very tiny data footprint. You know, the more games you can cram into the Deck - the better. I'd also give a high-five for the music. The tracks are a nice pack of tributes to old-school '90s melodic yet powerful game and arcade music, sometimes even reminding me of '80s C64 composer masterminds like Ben Daglish. From a chiptuine musician: hats off, guys. I'll definitely let it roll ingame.
Works perfectly on the Deck
Worst racing game I have played since a long time. I dont know whats worse, the steering or the camera angle where you cant even see the corners coming. Map isnt really a help for that. And the AI is simply driving like you dont exist.
从视角到控制手感都很差。
Super "wooden" controls against AI that is basically tanks..
