its really fun to play the levels from the old games but when playing the new levels, prepare to lock tf in because after the 2nd world the difficulty goes sky high

Normally i like those frustrating but addicted Sega Games. But Bad Controls, Bad Physics and a Bad Camera makes it sometimes nearly impossble to clear a level for me. Sega should have polished it some more before or after release. What a shame. The Game Series was awesome back in the Days.

A questionable remake of very good games. This is the best monkey ball available on steam and it gets on sale enough to make it worth a purchase then, but you are missing out on the original physics and atmosphere. I don't know why they did what they did to the story. The cutscenes are downright annoying.

I got this for $9.99 due to the steam sale a year or two ago. Honestly as much as people have issues with the original soundtrack being DLC exclusive (which to be clear is a fair complaint) I still love this game as I do all super monkey ball games. There's also a decently big modding community over at gamebanana so I recommend checking that out if you want more bang for your buck. If you want all the DLCs, wait for sales as you can get the full game with all DLC for $9.99 like I did. Super monkey ball has been one of my favorite game franchises for as long as I can remember, from being a little kid playing on my gamecube, to now, I've always held this series in high regard, besides a few odd-ball releases. Some I have complaints about, yes, but I've still enjoyed at least something about them regardless. Banana mania, at it's core, is a mash-up of sorts, consisting of levels from super monkey ball 1, 2, and deluxe. Unlike those games, they did away with the lives system and added the jump mechanic from banana blitz, which costs in-game points and can be toggled on or off, and disables time attack, so you won't get a best time if you use jumping. It also adds a lot of hand rails and settings you can enable for newer players just starting to get into the series and don't have much skill or practice, from there you can ease your way into the game without it being too difficult. The challenge is great, a few levels very frustrating, but overall it really gets the brain thinking. There is practice mode too, so you can practice one level as many times as you want till you get it down consistently. There is a very real challenge. In terms of those hand rails, you have: - The above mentioned jump feature, which you can buy in the points shop, makes a lot of levels significantly easier, especially since in the original games there was no jump mechanic so they were not made with this in mind. - Slow down. If you die enough in a level, the game will ask if you want to enable a mode that lets you slow down at certain times, which gives you more time to react, especially in some faster paced levels. - Skipping levels, which technically is and isn't in the originals. To explain, in the originals the levels are in a triangle shape (diamond shape for deluxe) to which you use the joystick to highlight and select the level you want to play. Here they are in a list, which you can skip a level if its too difficult to beat, and then come back to it. Afaik, there could be others I am forgetting about, but those are the more important ones. Super monkey ball is a marble physics arcade game. Your objective is to beat levels as fast as possible, or you can just have fun and see if you can beat stuff. It has a fair bit of challenge, and is at times incredibly difficult, but I will always have a soft spot for this game. and it is 100% worth buying
