Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD

Banana Blitz HD was originally hated because back when it came out in 2019, people wanted a remake of the original Super Monkey Ball games and Sega hinged that on Banana Blitz HD's success. But that is ancient history, you can choose Banana Blitz or Banana Mania, and I don't think its fair to just judge the game based on that. Most people are either going to want to play Banana Blitz HD for nostalgia or to scratch that Super Monkey Ball itch after playing all the other titles. I fall into the latter category and I'm very mixed on the game. I'm warming up to the art style (I particularly like Smooth Sherbet and Cobalt Caverns) and the music is great, with both tracks from the original Super Monkey Ball games and from Touch & Roll. And it does occasionally scratch that Super Monkey Ball itch, but I do mean occasionally! The first few worlds are way too easy, the stages themselves don't get challenging until World 7 (Volcanic Pools) and even then they don't reach the heights of the originals. The jump feature is a huge dud in the sense that most stages don't really use it creatively. It's a lot of fun for speedrun strats, but even then, it's more fun using the jump feature in Banana Mania – whose stages weren't designed for it! The bosses are either boring or obnoxious (the giant octopus!) and I HATE that they included the boss fights in the Time Attack mode. I also think Banana Blitz HD is a bad value compared to Banana Mania, but you probably own Banana Mania already, so that doesn't really matter.

I’d rather just play the game without these “boss fights” at the end of each level, they’re just not enjoyable bosses, I miss the GameCube games

Этой игре 7 лет, а в Стиме нет ни одного адекватного обзора на Русском языке, капец какая нишевая серия... Чтож, видимо буду первым) Не смотря на то, что игра довольно интересная, я полностью согласен со "смешанными" отзывами. Как я понял, это ремастер игры с Wii, а вы сами знаете какой там был контроллер, и как гироскоп влиял на управление. Тут же, всё назначили на контроллер и на просто отвратительно управление на клаве с мышкой. Я не знаю как материть разрабов, но они не сделали управление камерой на правом стике, что очень неудобно в некоторых моментах, но к чему привыкнуть ещё можно... Но вот мини-игры просто не должны были существовать тут, так как они просто отвратительно управляются, что нужно привыкать очень и очень долго. Ну и платина очень душная, так как заставляют гриндить тайм атак и эти испытания по 36 заходов... Зачем они это сделали, правда не понятно. И ещё обидно, что в тайм атаке и испытаниях нельзя играть за Соника, ну вот за что так? Если вы хотите поиграть в игру, остановитесь на сюжетном режиме. Он интересный и забавный, нужно только привыкнуть к тому, что нельзя управлять камерой. Я после того как играл в Banana Rumble просто чувствовал себя инвалидом тут) Ну и боссы немного подбешивали, если быть честным! Финальная оценка: 7/10

GC版の影を追って辛口評価をされている方もいますが、こちらはwiiの「スーパーモンキーボール ウキウキパーティー大集合」のリメイク＆新規ステージの追加となっています。 原作はwiiリモコンのジャイロで操作を行います。そのためGC版の精密な動きよりも体感的な操作を優先したステージ構成となり、ジャンプの存在も相まって好き嫌いが分かれます。 そもそもGC版はアーケード版モンキーボールの移植＆追加ステージ　だったのでお金を吸い取る目的でかなり難易度が厳しく設定されています。 今作について自分はかなり気に入っており、UI＆音楽もよく「ジャンプ」の追加によってGC版よりも何とかなる感が強いです。 加速を消してブレーキとして運用したり、とんでもないルートを開拓したりボールの動きをより捜査している感覚が強くアクションゲームとしての完成度は上がっていると思います。 またモンキーボールはスティック操作と相性がとても良いのでコントローラーでのプレイをお勧めします。 そして追加コースもかなりの難易度を誇っており、トライ＆エラーを繰り返しちゃんとクリアできるようになっています。 実績解除関連は少し面倒ですので「ワールド？をクリアした」など以外の取得率は低めです。 ボスについては行動によってクリアタイムが左右されるのでタイムアタックゲームとしてはあまりいらない要素だったかなとは思います。 ミニゲームについては明らかにボリュームが少なくなっており、好評だったレースも削除されジャイロ操作系のミニゲームもキー操作に移行されたためあまりパーティ感はないです。 硬派なモンキーボールとは少し系統は違いますが、少し難しいアクションゲームをしたい！といった方にはお勧めできる面白いゲームです。あと音楽がめちゃくちゃいいです。

7.5/10 Good game. This game is good, but it can break you mentally if you're bad at video games (like me). The story mode is basic, the level designs are okay, and the soundtracks are good. The boss fights are mediocre. The gameplay... well... I'm not quite sure about that. It's okay, but in some levels it can be very bad. I first played this game with a keyboard and mouse, but then switched to an Xbox One controller (wired). My problem is that the character doesn't jump when I click the jump button. This can be very frustrating when playing a difficult level. I believe that games like Super Monkey Ball need to be played with gyro controls. I really liked Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition on my Android smartphone. The party game is okay. Some are fun to play, others are bad because the controls are so clunky. Overall, and a message to Sega: Despite all the issues mentioned above, it's still an interesting game that's worth trying out. Buy it when it's on sale. I'm definitely going to finish playing Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania. Now I have two questions: Could you please release more of your older games for PC (Samba de Amigo: Virtual Party (releasing it on Steam or GOG), Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Heroes, a remake of Sonic 06, etc.)? And would it be possible to release these games on GOG as well? I would really appreciate a port of the OG Super Monkey Ball games that were released on the Gamecube to PC. That would be great. I look forward to playing more of your older games. ^^

This is a mediocre game turned into a decent/good game in this remastered edition. This was originally on the Wii using motion controls and it was awful, now that analog controls are allowed natively, it's a fun time. I'd still get Banana Mania over this one everyday, but if you have completed that one or simply want more Monkey Ball, this one does not disappoint. 6/10 I completed this one and would not recommend to get all the medals. The reward that you get from all your effort is not worth it imo, but it was fun to complete up until world 10.
