Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

Epic Mickey 2 is a very darling sequel and I enjoyed the story that was presented. If you're looking to see what kind of dynamic Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit have after the events of Epic Mickey 1, you'll find it here. Very sweet, very heartwarming. They love each other so much. The brothers ever <3 Now onto my critiques: the game is prone to softlocking, especially in concerns due to the undercooked Oswald AI. During puzzles that require both Mickey and Oswald in order to finish, like turning the lift, Oswald might not respond. This is due to the fact Oswald is meant to stay a certain distance away from Mickey when standing. Unfortunately, turning the lift requires BOTH Mickey and Oswald to push, so if Oswald is not pushing, you're basically trapped. This happens frequently in Ostown's Underground area. Luckily for you, dear player, I have a fix for that. Just hit Oswald frequently with a Spin Attack until he's close to the handle, then when both he and Mickey are close to the handles, have Mickey latch onto the handle, and Oswald should do so too. Now hopefully, you won't have to restart your game 3 times like I did :D unfortunately, can't do much if your save corrupts (this issue and the last issue are unrelated). Which is something that happened to me. Try not to die while the game is saving your progress. Unless you want to see Mickey Mouse trap in a death loop AND then try to do a deathless run of this game because trust me, every time Mickey dies, you will get trapped in a loop, and the game WILL send you back to the last healthy save. And that could set you back like... 3-4 hours of gameplay if you managed to avoid dying for that long. I've become such an expert at the Train Tunnels after what I've been through. Ha, I'm not selling this game very well, am I? Oh well. Play it if you wish. Despite problems, I did enjoy playing this quite a bit, and I loved seeing Mickey and Oswald be happy. That made the bugs and corrupted saves kinda worth it. But then again I am a nut for Mickey Mouse so perhaps I'm not the most sound person to listen to LMAO. Happy Epic Mickeying

There are pros and cons to this sequel to what is probably considered the best disney game ever created. If you are player 2, your role is kind of limited as oswald doesnt get to do as much as mickey. The game is more free-roam that the first which is something I appreciate especially if you have missed something and would like to return to an area.

If they could add remote play co-op to this game like its wii counterpart that would be rather nice, I am aware they would never consider the idea but yknow.

I would recommend this game only if you love Disney in general and have enjoyed Epic Mickey 1 (didnt play Rebrushed so cant speak for that). It has basically the same game mechanics as Epic Mickey 1 with built-in AI co-op. I believe the actual co-op is broken (a community effort is underway to have it fixed). I found this AI co-up not to be such a bother as other people have claimed and actually enjoyed having a companion, who introduces some extra game mechanics. The biggest issue I had with Epic Mickey 2 is that it is extremely confusing. There are a tri-zillion collectibles and side-quests, plus the main path allows you to solve a puzzle's level multiple ways, which all sounds exciting on page, but execution is another. (play Ni No Kuni if you wish to see this done right). There are many locations and 2D levels to play, some based on actual Mickey shorts, which are a real treat. Other 2D levels called DEC, are absolute garbage. The story is also a bit meh and convoluted. Bottom line, there is so much Disney to enjoy but don't expect a coherent or fun experience, as you often wander around stumbling into the next quest before the previous one has finished. The platforming aspect in Epic Mickey 2 further highlights its demise, as 9 out of 10 times Mickey fails to grab a ledge and falls down. It is also a nightmare for those who wish to get all the achievements, as one wrong decision can completely ruin your run.
