Pretty goofy little fun necromancer-sim, perfect for aspiring villain protagonists everywhere. Kind of a real-time tactical game, more or less. You raise corpses, turn them into undead, and send them against your foes. Try not to get hit, one hit is death. Nostalgic 4-color palette evoking the glorious (?) CGA era of gaming, before we even got to the state-of-art 16 colors. The game ended right when I got pretty tired of the campaign, so I guess it's around the correct length. At least one BS nonsense RNG achievement (1/10000 chance -_-), but other than that, it's good stuff. After you beat it, it unlocks a little sandbox level where you start with massive amounts of money/souls/whatever to spend in the shop and try stuff out, and an arena survival mode against waves of enemies. I think I paid $1 for it on sale and it's obviously worth at least that much, that's for sure.

Super Grave Snatchers is pikmin like in its gameplay, but with 1 bit graphics and undead. Basically you loosely control a horde of undead to destroy villages and kill towns folk, with a bit of a humerous bend to keep it light. Overall I feel supremely MEH about this game. There is a campaign with multiple difficulties and a few different game modes like "survival" but it all boils down to the same sort of thing: buy upgrades to have more undead and then point them at the enemy, with a few spells sprinkled throughout to give you something else to do. There is not much strategy and all the difficulty comes from keeping yourself from being randomly one shot in the absolute chaos that is the screen. Its not so much difficult as it is frustrating. There are two initial difficulty levels, "Weenie" and "Tough". I started with the later and found it quickly annoying as you have just 1 retry and death is basically instant if a peasant so much as breaths on you. The former fixes all of this but now there is no real challenge and I cake walked my way through the game. So pick your poison. That said, the game was pretty fun for about an hour, where I had achieved a large horde of undead was just massacring wave, after wave of townsfolk. The novelty wears off though, leaving not much else. Also, I do actually enjoy the music and graphics. Its all very basic, but it feels grungy and indie, and pretty different, that I like it despite its unpolished and grating feel. I suspect most people will disagree with that though. In the end I am going to recommend this game on sale, its a fun little distraction and you may even get more mileage out of it than me with all those other game modes, but don't expect much more than that.
