An old childhood game, nice to come back to it and beat it so easily after feeling like it was impossible all those years ago. Definitely a fun experience and it becomes an even better game when you realise that it was made by a father and son, with the main character being voiced by the son and a lot of inspiration coming from him, making it super wholesome and cute.
It's a very charming game with a colorful and stylized art style, similar to the original Chibi Knight, which was released 15 years ago. The gameplay's easy to understand; the quests require some exploration, but as long as you talk to the NPCs, you'll figure out what to do pretty easily (it draws heavy inspiration from Zelda II, but it's less obtuse). There are no big penalties for dying (you'll have to redo some sections, and there are some checkpoints from time to time, but there's no game over screen). The game's full of heart, made by a dad and his daughter and you don't see too often such an endearing story in the game industry. But the game has a huge performance problem; it's full of FPS dips/stutters, and it's very frustrating in a game that requires precision platforming. I've tried multiple workarounds, but my performance hasn't improved considerably. I don't think it's worth playing in its current state, even though the game's very cheap even without a discount. Maybe if they manage to fix the game and improve performance, it's gonna be worth recommending. Another minor complaint is that the magic route is much harder than the beast-master one, and magic doesn't feel all that great to use, It would've been nice if magic was more viable and the spells were more powerful.
RUS / ENG
P. S. Если у вас возникли трудности в прохождении, данное руководство будет очень кстати / If you have difficulties in the passage, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240
TERRIBLE VOICE ACTING ≠ NICE GAME
PestoForce's Super Chibi Knight has a lingering nostalgia for old flash games, but it's not a happy one. When I hear the word "chibi", my imagination picks up a cute, diminutive character. However, in the end, all we get is green dung in the face of the main character, who, by the way, is treated with raw meat. This raises questions about the very concept of the character, which is supposed to be charming and attractive. Based on the game's description, also observing the confusion: "Which path will Chibi's knight choose... the path to the mysterious island of Mahou to learn spells from its wizards, or the path to the Beast Lords' mountains to summon a host of ferocious animals and mount them?" There's no classification in the game, not at all. I mean, sure, you can swing a sword or do magic with the four special tricks, but there's no animal possibilities in the game. The claimed "cute and colorful drawings" and "deep history" produce only a superficial impression. The plot is set out only in the opening and final cutscenes, leaving the player without a real immersion in the world (there are still 3 mini scrolls in the starting location, but they were written by the sensations on the scrap and through do not want). With the phrase "The kingdom of Oukoku is threatened by the dangerous influence of General Tso", it seems that the developers simply did not bother to develop the script. And the locations, in fact, apart from the dungeons, and the separate scenes of encounters with the enemies that roam the map, there are only two, and they're very small. Some aspects, such as the lack of a russifier, also call into question the quality of the product. Sometimes it's hard to understand what the game requires of you, and unfortunately, that leads to confusion in the quest. Whereas in other simple RPGs, quests are usually clearly divided into main and side quests, here you need to figure out for yourself what actions you should take to get this or that important thing. Combat, further hampered by ax control in two-dimensional space and the lack of dungeon maps, only exacerbates the situation, turning combat into torture and platforming into an endless maze that, if you go around it five times, you'll stumble upon the EXACT exit. Yes, the game offers Steam Cloud features, cards and achievements, but that can't hide its flaws. It's important to remember that games, no matter who makes them, should be criticized by the players. Reckless comments that it's just a father-daughter game don't justify casual praise. Every consumer has the right to express his opinion and demand quality without being blindly optimistic. Just letting you know, in case someone starts telling me I'm a cheapskate.

This game is charming. It's very pure, honest, well-made. No AAA game studio bull crap or anything, just a good time playing a game. It took me 3 hours to roll the credits, but there's lots of achievements for replayablility value. I had fun with the new mechanics compared to the original Chibi Knight. There's not really a prevalent story, but the gameplay is so fun that I don't care about the lack of story. Dashing around and beating up dudes was great. There's some interesting puzzle set-ups and platforming as well. Definitely worth playing imo. Very high fun-factor for a game this small. Oh, and the music is freaking godlike and low-key might be my new favorite video game sound track of all time.
something you would find on newgrounds is a good game
loved it for my young son
An excellent game with a lot of charm that's reminiscent of the flash game era. Well made and so much fun!! Highly recommend.
An old-school flash game in a full version. It’s nostalgic and simple, not anything special, but still fun enough to keep you playing until the end. Lots of secrets and achievements to find.
