The Indigo Parallel

I like calling these dream sim games "a theatre of thoughts" There is cohesion between scenes like there are between dreams. Trying to find the connections between them, is understanding the dreamer, and possibly yourself. If you find enjoyment in the absurd, surreal and abstract, I can absolutely recommend However, performance was rough on any settings, and had to adjust on my end to get a smooth framerate. Possibly because I'm on AMD, but just an FYI

It's great but it also isn't. I can't even begin to imagine the creative process behind it. There's lots of imagery, a clear theme, there's even a secret alphabet; but once the "what the hell am I looking at" runs out, the game loses its grip and becomes a shoddy walking sim. The world is very open: there are different paths you can take. It's actually kind of like Yume Nikki - go through one world to go to another - but the traversal is nowhere near as fun in this one, and repeating zones that weren't that fun to begin with... eh. I think I reached an ending. It's hard to say with this game - I took one long path to its completion, and something happened, and I was given a card, which I think symbolises one of the 3 endings. There are areas I haven't explored, but to go to them I have to redo areas I already did a few times and... yeah, pass. And that's saying nothing of sections that have a bit more "active" gameplay... It's a shame, the surrealism of it all is something else - and the random things aren't so random in my opinion. Or maybe I'm reading too deep into this.

I have no fkn idea what this game is about or if I'm playing it 'right' but it sure is fun as heck

absurd... beautifully absurd... I also turned japanese halfway through... would recommend to fellow nihonjins and absurdity lovers. escapism is truly best found in the absurd. thank you indigo parallel. I shall live out the rest of my life absurd and japanese

I've only got an hour in this game so far. I don't even think I could call it a game. This is one of the most abstract and surreal experiences I've ever taken a part of and it's genuinely art. The liminality, the eeriness, the atmosphere. It's a sum that's greater than its parts. I could not and would not recommend this to everybody. It's not a game. It's something you have to sit and experience. But I've never played or seen something quite like this. If you're going to buy and play this, keep a notepad handy and make sure you keep track of the translation key. Keep making games, Chris. This is incredible. I can feel every part of what you're trying to convey and it's beautiful. I'll be back to explore more. Thank you for this art that you've created.

I usually enjoy very weird and surreal games/media, and I also love walking sims, but I really just can’t find this game interesting enough to keep playing for more than a little while. I think it might be the lack of dialogue/characters/interaction, the ugly or maybe flat textures/vibe, the gameplay, or something else. Or maybe I’ve just become so weird that this game is too normal for me.

OH MY EFFING GOD THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED. Every respawn introduces a surprise, I honestly didn't know what to expect next and I like it. Kudos to Chris for all those creative map textures, surreal surreal. I've been playing for 3 hours and when i check people's walkthrough of this game, how the heck there are still sequences I've never seen in the game, when does it end, kill me.
