Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

The movement once you get the hang of it and they give you the full suite, is actually pretty fun. Air boost into a rail, into a bounce, into a ground slam for bigger air to boost onto a wall run and repeat. It can be engaging when you actually decide to move around with some creativity. The boss fights seem to centre around the movement, and they shine a lot because of it. The gunplay, which is what Insomniac is usually known for at this point, is fine. There's some interesting stuff, but you don't really feel like anything is truly "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!", y'know? There's potential there, but the combat itself does get boring after a while, and the base defence missions for whatever reason sink the fps in this 2014 game set in 2027. The writing however, is honestly awful. Hyper cringe and insufferable, but that was the style at the time. However it really did grind on me pretty quickly. Meta to the point where I wanted to slam my head into a wall and I don't think I came away really liking any of the characters because of it? However there was a bit where I heard two scab enemies discuss philosophy, and it reminded me of Harry and Paul's intellectual scaffolders which annoyingly did get a chuckle out of me. Plus to fast travel, your character gets black-out drunk which I also annoyingly found funny the first time, it's creative at least. Also lots of technical issues, mainly big fps dips during the base defence and also in the docks area of the map? Also parts where dialogue would stay on screen no matter what I did. TLDR; Movement is fun, gunplay is okay but can get stale after a while, everything else is incredibly cringe. Play it for the gameplay only with voices muted, Can't really recommend in good faith.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

DISCLAIMER Yes there are problems with Steam Cloud saves, but do not let that push you away from playing this game, there's a lot of guides to follow that make the game actually stable. Also, disable Vsync, it causes the game to run REAAAAAALLY choppily when you start it On to the ACTUAL review Sunset Overdrive is an amazingly fun sandbox game with good mechanics and an amazing punk attitude! This is the "Definitive Edition" of the game, it includes the Pre-Order DLC (Featuring upgraded weapons and cosmetics, only available for limited time), as well as the Weapon DLC and the two story expansions. However, the multiplayer mode Chaos Squad is disabled, but all of the rewards from said mode can now be purchased from the respective vendors (Meaning this game is a fairly easy 100%!) The humour is dated and the characters range from kinda likable to annoying at worst. BUT, all of it is counteracted with great movement mechanics that allow you to take full control of Sunset City's infrastructure to zip, bounce and grind all the way from top to bottom (Side note, if you feel the movement is lacking, you'll have to wait until you unlock the air dash and slam bounce, both of these make the movement truly click) On top of that, the full arsenal of weapons at the player's disposal. Each one feels unique from your standard shotgun, magnum and AK to flamethrowers, teddy bear launchers, firework cannons and the infamously effective Hair Spray Launcher (If you want to get all those hardcore achievements, get that!) And that's not mentioning the customisation! A full wardrobe of unlockable and buyable attire is at your finger tips! Granted, it's limited to 4 colour options, but it's nearly comparable to Saints Row 2 in terms of customisation! You're bound to find something you like! if you're worried about this game not being the best from having to endure the characters, then pick it up on a sale, mute the character dialogue, CRANK up the music and let the Orange Soda fly! You won't regret it
Really fun game. The game is basically about screwing around nonstop.
The humor is a bit annoying at times, but the game still has its charm.
I really wanted to like this game, and I think I would've when it first came out because it's case of a product of it's time - with meta humour, pop-culture referencing and a cool looking mechanic mixing skateboards and shooters. When I first booted it up, it crashed on me twice which was a yellow flag, you'd think a game that's been out for a while would've patched things up by now and by a big studio no less. I loved the soundtrack of pop-punk, punk and alt when I eventually got it to stop crashing - but then I got into the game where I wanted to learn how to move around and the first opening scene did just that - though the movement felt a bit jank I assumed with time it's something I'd be able to upgrade or improve upon. Getting into the game though, every time I'd get somewhere I'd be halted by cringey dialogue by the cast of characters telling me that it's rad and cool to grind on the rails without letting me do such things - everytime they'd talk into my head my character would cease all movement so they can have a moment to talk back to whatever voice is trying to cram in multiple swears into a single sentence like it's peak comedy. You'd think for an action-fast-paced game, you'd be constantly on the move and not be bombarded by dialogue you can't skip or perform any actions inbetween. 3/10.
