As someone who really enjoyed the first game this one sucks. It isn't a continuation of the first story and this one feels way less interested in the dating simulation aspects. Moving around the house is annoying as hell, Ln'eta doesn't make a return, and the character you play as isn't interested. In a dating sim.
Im crying too fcuking much right now. I have always argued for immortality and I havnet found a single piece of art that agrees and for all of the same reasons. My girlfriend got this game and we are playing vaguely at the same time but she suggested it to me because its ace friendly. She hasnt finished it yet. She doesnt even know. This was made specifically for me, I wish to be in her arms for all of eternity even after every star goes. ♥♥♥♥, I truly can not express how powerful this is for me. I love you Kathrin and I will long after you are gone, every second of every day. Thank you my love.
Why is the main character a lousy ass OC?!

This game was lighter than I expected on dating elements, and honestly I hesitate to call it primarily a point and click game because that part of it seemed more almost for flavor and to add to the story (in the sense that it's better to have players go out and collect objects for a ritual so they can really "feel" the idea of performing a ritual than it is to just say "And then the hero searched the house for a bit and did some magic and stuff") than to exist for its own sake, but, well, it's kind of a visual novel with a very heavy amount of interactive elements, and the plot absolutely involves dating a horror god, but honestly the majority of the time what we're actually concerned about moment to moment is just getting supplies for the next ritual, not getting killed by the bad guys, whatever, and the majority of your time is spent out and about while your love interest is back at the game's "base camp" area. As for the romance itself, I'd say it's more of a slow burn than anything, which honestly I kind of appreciate because it makes the whole thing feel more natural and unforced, though at the same time, again, it means that a lot of what's going on at any given moment might be related to anything but the romance itself. I know on at least one occasion you can interact with your love interest during the point and click bits to have an optional conversation, but this doesn't seem to be available too much during the game, which is kind of a bummer because honestly I would have enjoyed the ability to just check back after every major story event for a random side conversation about some little thing (maybe our hero could talk a bit about her nine siblings or something, I don't know) just so we could get to know the characters better, you know? Also, you don't really seem to get choices during dialogue, and so it's not like you have to choose what to say on a date or anything with how the relationship turns out depending on your choices, but it's all just a single line straight through, which honestly isn't necessarily a bad thing because realistically nobody wants to get the "You blew it" ending, but we would just restart until we got the "You live happily ever after" ending anyway, and so this honestly probably allows the scriptwriter to just focus on the one path that actually matters, but still, this is probably worth noting. I appreciate how the game is perfectly reasonable to reach the true ending without a guide, and the first three chapters each have an optional objective to complete to get the true ending for that chapter (which might be needed to unlock the next chapter at all, and I believe you can't do chapter 3 until you got the true ending for chapters 1 and 2 and you can't do chapter 4 until you've gotten the true ending for chapter 3), and chapters 2 and 3 you already know what the objective is, and for chapter 1 the game doesn't say exactly and it's more of an implicit choice than anything the game directly presents to you, but it's still something intuitive that it might have occurred to you to do rather than just "Didn't you know? You have to go to this obscure corner of the house, pick up this obscure thing that's 90% hidden behind something else, and then use it on this other obscure thing making sure you click on the right section of the object because clicking two pixels off doesn't count", and that's just really nice, and I actually rather like the idea of "Hey, that thing I thought to randomly try out? It actually did something." But anyway, overall, the reason I ultimately went with a "not recommended" here isn't because of any specific individual problem with the game exactly, but it just overall wasn't quite good enough, and yeah, it had some moments, but overall the story was just fine but nothing special.
