About

Imagine Earth is a real-time planet simulation and a build up strategy game. Your job as a space colony manager is to explore and populate distant planets. Build up thriving and profitable colonies on a global scale and trade resources and goods into space.
You will experience a massive conflict between the profit goals of the interstellar corporations and the need to preserve living conditions for your people. Exhaust emissions and ground pollution impact the global climate as your colony is growing. Increasing temperatures melt down polar caps and your colonies are destroyed by rising sea levels.
Raise great cities and satisfy their appetite for resources by building power plants, farms and factories. Dig for ideon crystals, pacify riots, research technologies and constructs and maximize your growth while maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
Get ready to deal with threats like asteroid strikes, twisters, wild fires, volcanoes and rising sea levels. Fend off space raiders and alien investors. Coexist and trade with natives, merchants and hostile colonies.
In 2048 huge corporations have divided Earth among themselves and exploited its natural resources to a large extent. Now the discovery of ideon crystals allows journeys into space, while technologically and ideologically almost everything remains the same. The laws of the market are being spread into the universe.
On each discovered planet a competition for economic dominance breaks out. To expand your colony as fast as possible and overcome your opponents you exploit the freely available fossil resources and minerals. Additional money is provided by selling shares of your colony. Take over opposing companies by buying up their shares.
Merchants and technology traders organize the interplanetary trade and will happily buy all minerals and resources you extract from your territory while selling expensive technologies. The same goes for cooperating colonies and alien tribes that live on some of the planets.
Global and realtime world experience instead of playing on limited square maps
Fully playable and story based campaign with 9 planets / missions
Competition game mode to play against up to 5 other AI factions with individual agendas
Over 50 constructs with more than 80 individual upgrades
Diplomacy and trade with local colonies and space traders
Tower defence with energy shields and lasers against space pirates, alien invaders and locusts
Development and research system for advanced and sustainable technologies
Share market for refinancing and hostile take over ofopponent cities and colonies
Freeplay mode with a procedural planet generator for endless worlds and challenges
Planet Editor for terraforming, building and customizing individual planets which can be saved and shared
Global climate simulation of local pollution and worldwide emissions and melting polar caps and disasters
Disasters: Chemical spills, oil slicks, radioactive contamination, wild fires, tornadoes, volcanoes, dying forest and growing deserts, alien and robotic invaders, etc.

I had wanted this game for ages and finally got it for a decent price. It really isn't what I thought it was. It's not really a colony builder as such it's more of a plunder the planet as quickly as possible before your competitors do it first. You build "cities" and the people generate income in the form of taxes but the main aim is harvesting resources and selling them for profit. The problem is that you are doing exactly the same thing over and over and over, there is no depth to the game and it's really repetitive. For me there is no replay value and once it's completed it will be uninstalled never to be played again. If you really want this game buy it when it's on offer, like 60% off or more. Sadly I have to give it a thumbs down.
The game itself is serviceable, but it’s buried under relentless, kindergarten-style moralizing about sustainability and anti-capitalist themes. This heavy-handed approach completely undermines what could have been an otherwise enjoyable experience—and is by far its biggest flaw.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's not a colony sim it's open ttd alpha-centauri. They could probably sell more copies marketing the game as what it is.
Imagine Earth is one of the best city builder strategy games I've ever played, ESPECIALLY when it comes to using a controller. It is so hard to find a strategy game that has good controller support and it's clear that the team put in the time and effort to get the controller support right. It works like a charm on Steam Deck and it's buttery smooth on desktop. I can't recommend this one enough if you like city builders or want a strategy game you can relax to and enjoy with a controller. Even without combat (which you don't need in every game), this one is a treat. I wish these guys would teach a class to other devs on how to support controllers. Do yourself a favor, pick it up. If it's on sale, awesome, if not, I still recommend it to support these awesome devs.
Nice graphics, and it runs smoothly on macOS, but the user interface is complicated and seems to be designed mainly for console gamepads. The game mechanics are quite simple and repetitive, so it’s not for seasoned city and colony builders.
Love the game. It's neat and chill. Here is the playthrough without much comment so just some good old gameplay https://youtu.be/c7696h655vg
It's rather basic, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Perhaps I'm biased towards space exploration and colony builders. The visuals are appealing, and I like how quick a session can be. So many things could have been better, though. The factions feel exactly the same. It would have been more fun if they had special tech or some unique buildings and bonuses. Speaking of tech, the tree is very simple, and the way the different technologies are connected doesn't make any logical sense. Another minor gripe is interface. The 2-color icons for tech and buildings lack individuality and I find myself lost in them even after spending a few hours in the game. Finally, the management aspect is not particularly challenging. It's always obvious what the best choice is. All in all it's a nice-looking game with a pleasant, relaxing experience, but it could have been so much more.
Весьма залипательный симулятор колонии. На несколько часов можно провалиться только так, любители оценят. 10 парниковых эффектов из 10)
so far feels like work in progress. But its really laid back game if you want to chill.
This is allround just a very fine game, everything works and feels quite well balanced, though also does provide challenges at times. There are a lot of systems and mechanics to keep track of and lots of stuff to do, where you can come back to old levels and continue from where you left off. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
