Backed the game because I hoped an adult game could deliver everything it promised, but that just did not happen: dialogue is 80% jokes about drugs and sex, the player's characters gets annoying to listen to pretty quick, ground combat is competent but gets repetitive, space combat has some cool bosses. Kickstarter still has the quote "a tale of absurdist comedic harem-building revolution" and it's FAQ "You can romance as many characters as you want during your playthrough. It is a harem fantasy after all." It ain't, characters have a devotion level/quest but those change nothing in how they perceive the crew: a free for all ♥♥♥♥ fest, which is fine, but not exactly what marketing in kickstarter and dev blogs leads you to believe. It was disappointing because I had high expectations for what it promised, but it feels like this should have been a VN that allows you to fast foward dialogue to get to sex scenes since dialogue, character motivation and world setting can be resumed as: "I want to have drug fueled orgies and the galaxy government won't allow it", it just becomes background noise eventually.
The best way for me to put Subverse is it feels like its two games. One is a interesting space rpg thats over the top in its deadpool like sex jokes and the other feels like an extremely well made parody scene player made based directly off of it. I would go so far as to say it feels like there's two different teams working on this game where on works on the game and the other works on the scene viewer/gallery. Ironically if this wasn't a hentai game I might recommend it but since it is I am compelled to say only buy this game if you are not buying it for the sex but for the game part since the scenes, while very well made, are so divorced from the game they nearly feel not canon to the material but instead high quality fan made animations.

It's the classic dilemma where talented artists and animators want to make a game, but can't decide what it will be and the result falls flat hard. This is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Mass Effect satire, worst of the worst Borderlands writing with the stupidest amount of 4th wall breaking, actually pretty good voice acted visual novel that is ruined by having about 85% of the game padded with just terrible space-shooter bullet hell and turn-based grid combat. Not to mention who ever loved flying Normandy in ME and clearly wanted more planets to have stuff, so they made it so that HUNDREDS of planets in this have stuff, which is mostly that aforementioned terrible combat scenarios. Why would you do that? Just so you can say you have 40-50h of content in the game or something? I was so done with this 6 months ago but came back to finish it just from spite. It's just mind boggling how the best animations and model work I've seen in a game have been packaged into being one of the worst games I've ever played. I don't know how well the kickstarter went but judging from the credits, it went too well. Clearly some madness of being paid wayyyy too much of what the scope was led to the problem of quantity over quality. If this was just 10h long, it would have been 5/5. But it isn't and being this over stretched mess, it's more like a 1.5/5. Literally only good thing are the animations and models.

最后一次支持马头社了，最早认识还是看马头社做的伊瑞尔堕落竞技场，这么多玩家真金白银地支持连一个汉化的钱都出不起，真让人心寒
