About
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds.
Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.
Subnautica 2 is being crafted as a single-player experience that you can optionally play in online co-operative multiplayer with up to three friends. You can choose from four pre-designed characters, with more characters and customization options coming throughout Early Access. Work together to explore long-forgotten ruins and learn to adapt to a planet that might not want you there.
To survive the depths and make this planet your home, you’ll need to utilize all the tools at your disposal. Traverse vibrant and breathtaking biomes with your Tadpole submersible. Design and customize bases to return to when your adventures push you beyond the safety of shallow waters. As Early Access develops, so too will your array of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Upgrades will help push you beyond your boundaries and unlock the secrets of this strange world.
Scan and study a rich world of biodiversity to understand life here. Discover everything from the smallest creatures to towering Leviathans. Experience the wonder, and sometimes danger, lurking around every corner. Every dive is an opportunity to uncover why the ship's AI is so determined to continue the mission and what mysteries lie beneath the surface of this breathtaking new frontier.
Subnautica 2 is an Early Access title in active development. Throughout this journey, we will continuously expand the world with additional biomes, creatures, and craftables, while expanding the narrative. You may encounter bugs, in-development features, and performance issues. Your feedback is the cornerstone of our development process. Join us and help shape the next chapter of the Subnautica universe.
Subnautica 2 is being developed by Unknown Worlds, the studio behind the award-winning Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. Our journey began with the 2003 Half-Life mod Natural Selection, and today we have evolved into a fully remote, globally distributed team spanning from the United States to the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and beyond. Defined by a philosophy of open development and over a decade of community-focused innovation, we invite you to dive back into the depths with a studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the survival genre.

What a let down, hey.
It's okay? Has a lot of bugs and the content takes about 6-8 hours to 100%. You'll run into a lot of areas that give warnings that it's unfinished/WIP/unused. Also most of the fish are really aggressive and will spend the rest of their lives harassing you and your stuff because you literally cannot fight back or protect yourself in any way.

I like the game but it is way to lagy. I reckomend getting a gaming computer and of corse a nasa level system
since update july, the only game ever in low rez making my GPU spiked to 100% and crashing my whole pc. I've tried differents solutions in reddit, steam community, etc and none worked. It only does that in my main save for some reason too.
This game is good, I was enjoying it very much and was having such a great time... then I found out you cannot eat the Crab Feces and it put me off the game for good.
This game is basically a demo. There is 8 hours of gameplay max, no updates on the horizon. Play subnautica 1 if you want a fun game.
Incredibly little content, especially for the price point. I wish I had realized it is way too early in development and waited another 6 to 12 months. At least its not likely to be abandoned but hold off for now. Doesnt even have aquariums yet. I will say its very much on par with the OG and is promising.
After the 1.2 patch, I'm honestly starting to wonder if this game is even being developed anymore, or if the developers just press publish every few months to remind us they still have a Steam page. An emote wheel. That's basically what we're getting. Meanwhile, mobile games are being updated faster and getting more actual content than this game. There are roughly 5–6 hours of gameplay here in its current state. For 30 euro. That’s not a little lacking in content. That’s embarrassing. And the way the developers responded to the criticism surrounding the combat rework was honestly a joke. Players have legitimate complaints, and instead of actually addressing them, the response felt completely dismissive. If you're going to completely rework one of the most important parts of your game, the least you can do is properly listen to the people actually playing it. The biggest problem isn't even the lack of content. It's the fact that the pace of development doesn't remotely match the price or the expectations they've set.
Fishy is killing me. Fishy is Destroying my place. Fishy gets away with it everytime. Because Dev said so. No way of mitigation. Are you for real?
