About
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds.
Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.
Subnautica 2 is being crafted as a single-player experience that you can optionally play in online co-operative multiplayer with up to three friends. You can choose from four pre-designed characters, with more characters and customization options coming throughout Early Access. Work together to explore long-forgotten ruins and learn to adapt to a planet that might not want you there.
To survive the depths and make this planet your home, you’ll need to utilize all the tools at your disposal. Traverse vibrant and breathtaking biomes with your Tadpole submersible. Design and customize bases to return to when your adventures push you beyond the safety of shallow waters. As Early Access develops, so too will your array of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Upgrades will help push you beyond your boundaries and unlock the secrets of this strange world.
Scan and study a rich world of biodiversity to understand life here. Discover everything from the smallest creatures to towering Leviathans. Experience the wonder, and sometimes danger, lurking around every corner. Every dive is an opportunity to uncover why the ship's AI is so determined to continue the mission and what mysteries lie beneath the surface of this breathtaking new frontier.
Subnautica 2 is an Early Access title in active development. Throughout this journey, we will continuously expand the world with additional biomes, creatures, and craftables, while expanding the narrative. You may encounter bugs, in-development features, and performance issues. Your feedback is the cornerstone of our development process. Join us and help shape the next chapter of the Subnautica universe.
Subnautica 2 is being developed by Unknown Worlds, the studio behind the award-winning Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. Our journey began with the 2003 Half-Life mod Natural Selection, and today we have evolved into a fully remote, globally distributed team spanning from the United States to the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and beyond. Defined by a philosophy of open development and over a decade of community-focused innovation, we invite you to dive back into the depths with a studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the survival genre.

subnautica 2 is what i would consider a successor of subnautica 1 for its lore, graphics, and design. the two games are extremely similar, but sub2 is definitely more fun and user-friendly in my opinion.
After almost 19 hours, I've finished the early access development as of July 2026 playing Co Op. Ran into a couple bugs but they were resolvable with a game restart or understandable with some regions yet to be developed in the early access state. Overall, a very enjoyable 19 hours. I tried playing the first one and am playing the first one again now and I am positive the sequel is a big improvement on the first versions game play. Progress is so much more obvious in what you're supposed to do next and where you need to go or do. The music is beautiful in some parts of the game and the visual style is simple but perfect for this type of game. Eager to play this again in 2-3 years when more development has been completed and it feels like a fresh start again.
Very good ceaser
the whole game is beautiful and is absolutely peak and it is a great game and is only 12-15 gb download
I should mention, I haven't beaten the game yet, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Subnautica 2 is a pretty good game, but it's also a mildly disappointing one, both of those are true. Let me explain! The wait was long, Below Zero came out in 2018, and this was announced in 2022, likely already in development for a few years. I went in expecting a near-complete experience, but instead got about a quarter of that. The vehicle lineup is also a step back. The Cyclops was my favorite because it felt like a mobile base (and was just amazing in Subnautica Nitrox), and the Seatruck in BZ was almost as good. Subnautica 2 currently only offers the Tadpole, which is basically a multiplayer-friendly Seamoth. I know more vehicles are planned, but after 8 years, I hoped for more at launch. Also, the reprint system I found to be annoying, it removed the risk, I understand why they added it however. My performance was also pretty terrible, but they may have been because I was on CachyOS, as on the PC I'm on now, it runs great, and everyone I know had no problems! On the technical side, the intro cutscene (right before the actual game begins) is broken on CachyOS, though it works fine on Windows, so it's not a dealbreaker. Now the good: the animations are gorgeous, the graphics are beautiful, the world is intriguing, and the story (from what I've played so far) is engaging. The foundation here is excellent, and I truly believe the game will grow into something special as Early Access continues. One minor gripe: text chat should have been included from day one. I want to hop in with random people without needing Discord or a call. I know proxy voice chat is planned, but a simple text box would go a long way. Also, I see a lot of negative reviews blaming the devs for publisher drama, the EULA, or the founder's firing. That's unfair. The dev team was put in a terrible position and still delivered a solid game. You can mention those issues in a positive review, you don't have to hurt the score to voice concerns. Verdict: If you loved the original Subnautica, you'll enjoy this, just don't expect too much for now. It's smaller than I'd hoped, but what's there is polished and fun. I'm giving it an 8/10 because I trust the roadmap and I'm judging the game itself, not the issues around it. Anyway, buy the bundle (as the game is 30 USD rn, I believe it intends to be 60 later on, so I'd get it now), play the first two games, and by the time you're ready for this one, it'll be in a much better state. If you'd already played the other two (or just the first), I'd still get it! If anything changes, I'll edit this and make it more positive!
Игра огонь но оптимизация пока хромает, да и после обновления фпс упал:(
still brand new as its early access but the amount of content in the game is thrilling enough, im looking forward to playing more in the future updates.
