Initially gave this a positive review on the proviso it was early access and still being worked on. However, no updates in a long time. One can only surmise the game is now dead. Save your money and look to other, more fleshed out games such as Luck Be a Landlord
[edit] Okay, peeked at the forums, and this game hasn't gotten an update and the devs released another game in the meantime. Looks like this game's dead in early access - changing my thumbs up to thumbs down. A fun little romp if you can get it for a few bucks, but what you see is what you get. _______ I got it for four bucks. For four bucks, it's... all right. I got 2.6 hours as of right now, and just unlocked everything. It's one of those roulette RPG game things where you pick stuff every round and try for synergies. There's only... a few real synergies. Not a lot of cross-pollination with said synergies, with a few cases where if you don't RNG into an artifact, you've boned yourself (looking at you, zombies). After you beat the game, you can equip a "curse". There's like five of them, three shown at the start of a run. Pick one, it bones you, but you get a cheevo if you win with it. And there's two characters. The second one has the weirder mechanics, you know, like you would expect. I'm gonna say "yes" to recommending it, because honestly the idea's pretty fun and the animations are enjoyable. It's early access, so please, pleeeeease, add more stuff to this thing.

This is a very casual, no rush distraction you can switch back and forth to between other casual games or watching videos. It's not a real brain-buster, just low pressure, casual, at your own pace game. Game play resembles a slot machine. After each spin, you get to choose one (or none) of four cards to add to your deck. Your turns remaining determine how long you get to play. The pixel graphic style is a bit extreme for my older eyes. Downright hard to read at times. In my opinion, the price is high. I'd rather see it at $4.99, in the "Under $5" section (I'm a sucker for all those games). Catch it on sale. Overall, it's not mind-blowing envelope pushing game play, but it is entertaining. I'd say buy it on sale if you are a fan of the casual/idle/incremental genre.
Looks a lot like a slot machine. It is not a slot based system; matching ties mean nothing, as any tile that comes up on the play field has its effect, be that direct damage, poison, buffs, cash flow, etc. You grow your pool of tiles every round, or, at least, you have the skippable option to add a tile to your pool of available ones, then, on the next turn, you get a lucky dip into your pile of available tiles to make your attack. It's fun and addictive, but doesn't tend to draw you in for hours at a time, making it perfect for killing 15-30 mins at a time, again and again and again.
Fun game but not worth full price imo. At least not YET. Took me around 3 hours to get all achievements. But one of the most fun 3 hours I've had. Absolutely needs more content.
I enjoy the concept and the gameplay. Unfortunately there just isnt much to it. If I had realized how little there was I probably would have refunded. I understand the game is in early access and i hope the dev adds more to it. Until then I can't reccomend.
I liked the game and would like to see where it's going. The thumbs down was only because where it stands now I can't really feel good about recommending it. There should be something in between of up or down especially for early access games. It's the price point that I have the most issue with it probably should be around $2.99 as it stands now. I do think there's something here that could turn into a great game that you could sink many hours into and they could even make the price like $14.99 or higher. It's not a bad game it was enjoyable and left me wanting more and if the dev continues to update and make changes (add more) it will definitely get my recommendation. I came back to this game because i genuinely like it and whats in my first review still stands kind of because they did add more content ( a little but still). I think this game could be a gem the bones are there and either the developers have bigger projects, moved on from making games or are just stalled. With that said i would buy this to own the rights because there's something there and i mean slay the spire there. The art is more than fine I like it, the one more try is there even though you'll beat the game quick the one more try is there but is not because of easy content that could be implemented. i would buy the ip out right if the price is right because i like the game and for it to be a gem is not far but it's stuck as a bad buy and if they only freaking great buy.
i love the way this game looks more than it plays. it feels simple compared to luck be a landlord but it's still enjoyable. i feel like it needs a touch of inspiration from existing slot machine reward systems to create a want to play more. i'm hopeful for a reason to come back to it at full release.
it's a fun game
