About

Stoneshard is a challenging turn-based RPG set in an open world. Experience the unforgiving life of a medieval mercenary: travel across the war-torn kingdom, fulfill contracts, fight, mend your wounds and develop your character without any restrictions.
There’s no hand-holding, and the game will punish you for your mistakes: you’ll have to carefully prepare for each expedition, plan your actions in advance, and weigh your resources against possible risks. Saving can only be done in certain spots, so each wrong move can potentially lead to a swift death and lost progress.

Open World
War always leaves its mark: villages lie in ruins, dungeons are infested with monsters, and old roads are abandoned. Travel through Aldor and learn more about its past.
Caravan
Gather your own caravan to travel the world. Acquire upgrades for it and recruit followers - their knowledge and skills will likely benefit you along the way. Feeling weary? Return to your camp to hear new stories or just rest by the fire.
Economy
The wartime economy is ruthless, but it also presents many opportunities: fulfill contracts, hunt for treasure, trade in a variety of goods, and travel the land to earn your fortune.

Character Development
Experiment with 200+ abilities and 400+ equipment pieces without any class or level restrictions. Create your very own playstyle!
Enemy Variety
Take part in intense battles against numerous factions. Brigands, abominable cults, the undead - all of them require a unique approach.
Tactical Battles
Only the thoughtful ones shall prevail - plan a few turns ahead, adapt to your surroundings, and fully utilize your character’s strengths.

Health System
Master the simple but deep health system: cauterize bleeding wounds, relieve pain with alcohol and drugs, practice bloodletting and heal your maladies with various concoctions.
Psyche
Different in-game situations have a distinct influence on your character’s mental condition. High morale may turn the tide in your favor when fighting even the most hopeless of battles, while low sanity brings panic attacks and paranoia.
Permadeath
Do you like risk? Then try out the Ironman mode, where every decision is irreversible and your character dies once and for all.
New Content
Additional settlements, enemy factions, and even more activities, equipment, and abilities.
Main Story
To solve the mystery of Stoneshards, you’ll have to undertake a long journey full of dangers, hardships, and adventures. What choices will you make in this bleak world?

Devs are making it very clear they have no intent to listen to the community, taking absurdly long to integrate aspects of the game under the very convenient excuse of "gosh our game is just so incredibly complex". Add to that, after this long of not finishing what has been promised, they're now adding paid content packs. You guys sure found the time to do that extra work, huh? Avoid.
With the recent DLC and attitude the devs have given to anyone with concerns that the game is taking too long to release while still asking for "support" in the form of cash leads me to a point where I cannot recommend this game any longer. I fully acknowledge that this game has good potential, however it's been years and years of being hard stuck in EA and now the devs want to release cosmetic DLC instead of working on finishing the game? Yeah that's a huge no-go for me. Overly prideful devs that will silence anyone they disagree with and call it "flaming" in order to justify them banning me from the community was the last straw, before that happened I was still fully supportive of this game and would still have recommended it to anyone who's a fan of the genre but they screwed the pooch with the showing of a poor unprofessional attitude toward criticism. Do not purchase this game until it's fully released, these devs do not deserve another penny.
Fun game, wouldn't recommend.
I love this game personally but definitely wouldn't recommend it to the majority of people. I'm not saying this because of the difficulty (you get the hang of things eventually), but because this game has been in early access for many years and it probably will be for many more. I have a hard time believing it will ever be completed at all, honestly. Big updates aren't very frequent and only add or change a few aspects of the game at at time, so if your interest in the game mostly stems from what you feel like the game could be and your desire to see the finished product, you will end up disappointed and annoyed in the end. This is not a dig at the developers or me whining about the game myself. I know they're a small team and I really don't care much about the frequency of the updates or how much they add, but that's just where my expectations are for this game after playing it for as long as I have, having a tolerance for these types of games and knowing better. If you're interested in this game, buy and play it because you like it for what it is right now and look at updates as a treat. Otherwise, the slow development of this game WILL outlast your tolerance of the update frequency and your desire for new content and you will be left frustrated.
years have passed since game already had much of its 'meat' - game not only unfinished still, but devs have added a supporter pack DLC, hah. no shame at all
Still no customized characters? I was looking to try this again after nearly a year away and seems like little to no progress. can't believe I spent more money on DLC with nothing that I care about done to this game. Hypetrain = only hype no substance, inkstain disappearing ink, promises of customization never getting fulfilled.
6+ years into early access devlopement and they just realeased a 11$ dlc. Greedy devs ask for more while they still hvnt delivered what they promised years ago. I heavely recommend to keep your money until / IF it ever gets officially released.
目前开发状态:打开TXT,找到某个数值,做个加减法。又是工作量满满的一天。
To be honest, at the current state of the game, there isn't much "main storyline" to enjoy yet, it's going to be mostly taking contracts, clear our dungeons, do commerce, hunt, and all of those gameplay loops until you get bored or something. The game itself though... very beautiful! Great pixel art, I especially love the little details on character and item sprites; The combat is pretty complex, the game gives you a lot of skill trees to mix and match; And the game is very hardcore, you have to actually prepare for battles: Bring enough food, bring enough meds (not just one type of healing, you need to consider bleeding, injury, pain and other psyche heals too), keep your morale high, stay sane, etc. Out of food? You can try foraging/hunting for food. Low on money but can't afford to do contracts yet? Try hunting games to sell furs/pelts/trophies or trade commodities. I'd love to see more updates as the game feels like it lacks A LOT of story, it feels like we only reached chapter 2 plus a substory, but I'd still recommend the game for the amount of things you can enjoy at the moment.
Bought the game 6 years ago and it's still not finished... Steam should really consider putting a time limit on how long devs can keep a game in early access for.
