STILL WAKES THE DEEP is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre for The Chinese Room, creator of critically acclaimed games such as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther.
You are an offshore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard.

Can't even get past the start menu without the game crashing with a "Fatal Error".

I was excited when I saw Chinese Room name attached to this, considersing they delivered some great experiences in the past; games with remarkable graphics, voice acting that stood out in best way possible, with Jessica Curry's soundtrack - probably the best one in gaming history. You can tell devs have poured a lot of love and time into this project; it looks great, voice acting is in league of it's own... However, it is not the gaming experience I was hoping for. While this game does everything right - on paper - it is also quite boring. Setting of the game is where it really falls into a trap - everything looks and feels the same, go under the pipes, climb ladders down, turn valves on, go under the pipes, climp ladders up, turn valves off... Because of this, game feels much longer than it really is, with very few interesting, recognizable survival horror moments in between. Monster design is also somewhat generic, a body horror trope you've seen many times already. If this is your first survival horror experience of a sort, you might get something out of it. But if you remember the "golden age" of early 2010s, I'm affraid this is nothing to write home about. Sorry, Chinese Room...
Если разработчику н а с р а т ь на своего потребителя, то уж мне на разработчика тем более. couldn't make it through the title screen with a relatively high end pc. make your game playable
Thrilling game and story - especially for deep ocean and suspense fans. For me this is one of those rare experiences that come around with a few years in between, when the story takes a hold of you for its duration - and you can't put it down before you've seen it through. Thoroughly enjoyed the quality of everything in the game from the ambience, environment and characters to the fear and dread. I think most will enjoy playing through this, I certainly recommend it.
Compact, quick, and incredibly good. The accessibility options were a huge draw, and I adored the voice acting, which really helped carry the emotions in such a short game. Excited to play the DLC.
