9/10, would be 10/10 if i could kill the beatles
This game is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. The voice acting and audio design too are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible. The story is creative and well written. The enviroments, even though they appear quite similar to the newer parts of the DooM series (smh) are beautifully designed. I have rarely felt that emotional from a game alone before. And despite being made in Unreal the game performs quite good on my mid-range PC. (Specs should be attached) This obviously has its price at around 34€. That price seems quite fair. However, the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ six hours long. And that's my playtime with barely any sprinting and full credits. That is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unbelievable for that price. I bought the game on sale for 8.47€ which is still more than one Euro per hour. Buy it on sale. If you are rich or stupid, buy it for the full price. Also, most of the horror lies in atmosphere. The monsters are predictable and rarely scary.
atmosféra i gameplay je akorát na krátkou hru. je to bomba na to co to je.
good
As far as "walking simulators" go, this is among the best ones I've played. The story is great, and so are the characters, so it has nailed the most important part there already. The oil rig herself is a character in and of herself. How she screeches and twists throughout the game, it almost feels like she's in constant agony, which adds to the atmosphere quite a bit. And of course, the protagonist's wellbeing rests upon her wellbeing. So it's not just symbolic either. I personally can't take the Scottish accent seriously. It just makes me chuckle every time I hear it. Buuuuuuuuuut, the game managed to make me forget that by the mid-point where the stakes are at their highest and numerous tragedies occur naturally and with a lot of grace. It's certainly a tearjerker of a game I must say. Gameplay-wise, there's a few mandatory instant gameover stealth sections, which I could do without. But they do spice up the game somewhat, and aren't too numerous for me to complain about. The rest of it is the standard fare of QTEs, walking around; and even some light parkour. Graphically, the game struggles to perform, it being a very poorly optimized UE5 game. Man, seriously, developers, stop using that poor excuse for an engine. It just sucks a$$. The graphics is okay all things considered, but it has no business having stutters on the machine that runs Silent Hill 2 Remake in 4K at triple digit FPS. And that one was an UE5 disaster too, by the way... Also, just like in Silent Hill 2 Remake, I've noticed that the flashlight seems to behave very weirdly. It doesn't seem to illuminate things at all sometimes, especially while crouching in enclosed spaces to avoid enemies. This is really annoying, because the game's very dark. Just like a lot of SH2 Remake were. Anyway, it's definitely worth it on sale, as it's well written, with plenty of tense and emotional moments. The gameplay certainly adds to the former, which is a step above your average "walking simulator".
buy it on a sale
Worst Christmas ever
amazing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game
Even though it's quite linear I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has some bugs here and there and the gameplay feels a little bit stiff sometimes. But its gripping story, unsettling atmosphere and outstanding voice acting definitely make up for it.
