About
The city burns and bleeds as it suffers the madness of King Louis XVI and his violent legions of automatons. Aegis, a mechanical masterpiece created by the engineer Vaucanson to be the queen's bodyguard, must save the French Revolution in this challenging action-RPG.
Up against the king's mechanical soldiers, deadly accuracy will be needed. String together dodges, parries, jumps and devastating attacks to fight your way through Paris. Every fight will test your nerve and requires excellent discipline, while the huge relentless machine bosses demand patience and skill.
Define your own style and upgrade your abilities as you progress through the game. You can play as a ruthless warrior, a hard-hitting bodyguard, a deadly dancer or a virtuoso of the elemental arts. Take advantage of a wide variety of weapons and skills to approach each fight in your own unique way.
Using carriages, grapples, secret passages, a detailed map, and other methods and tools you find along the way, explore a city experiencing its darkest days. Your grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploration and Paris's verticality. Combined with your dash ability, it will provide access to all the city's secrets across multiple levels you can explore over and over again.
You are one of the main characters of an alternative history where Paris is being choked by a tyrant king. Allies and enemies with unclear motives will cross your path, such as Marie-Antoinette, Lafayette and Robespierre. It's up to you to cut a path through all the plotting and put an end to one man's madness so that the French Revolution succeeds.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The combat is fun, with a wide variety of weapons that encourage different playstyles. The alternate-history French Revolution setting is unique and helps the game stand out from others in the genre It may not be the best Soulslike out there, but it's an enjoyable and accessible one, especially for newcomers to the genre thanks to its assist options

poorly made, needed more effort.
Steelrising is a fantastic soulslike. It's not perfect, but when it hits, it REALLY hits. The weightiness of combat is a masterclass in using classic cinematic techniques to achieve satisfying swings. Stamina management is a core aspect and the heft of weapons crashing into automatons goes a long way to emphasize the importance of smart combat decisions. Bloodborne is the golden standard for "chunky" combat mechanics, and Steelrising does a very good job of replicating those brutal attacks. Enemy variety has been so-so but each enemy type is wholly unique and fun to engage in combat. The music and set design are fantastic. It's a very pretty game. Platforming is at times unclear but clever regardless. There are teasers of inaccessible areas heavily dashed throughout the game, making you want to unlock more abilities to come back and explore further, much like a metroidvania. There are (subjectively) great QoL updates. Most every cornerstone of soulslikes is available at any "bonfire." You can purchase back anything you sell for a reasonable markup; even upgraded weapons are available at the same level they were sold. This forgiveness won't be for everyone, but it will certainly reduce frustrations for the average player. I personally enjoy the voice acting and overarching storyline. (Even if the character models are a bit stiff.) The blend of French and English can make remembering names and places a challenge for the average American. Through it all, it's easy to see a lot of heart has been put into Steelrising. Any fan of the soulslike genre will find a lot to love in this game.
♥♥♥♥♥ ass, combat is boring, story is a do not fall asleep challenge, environments are mediocre. Not worth the time.
