玩了一会儿就为了给差评。 某个网站喜加一活动白嫖的,就知道没啥好游戏,这种傻逼活动我再也不参加了。
Interesting variation from the standard HOG with your character on screen like in a platformer. Items are hidden in the background rather than a scene cluttered with objects. A few puzzles require quick thinking and a couple mini-games will requiring some dexterity above that of a potato. It is pretty a pretty short game but the extra effort the Devs put in to make the gameplay stand out from traditional HOGs, make this one that deserves a look. Unfortunately all the achievements are non-functional.
Honestly, the atmosphere is kinda nice and actually fits the Unity-look. Not everyones thing, but I liked it. And it's made by a handful of people, I appreciate that, since it apparently ties into the universe of there other game, nice. Plus some steampunk-esk photos that serve no purpose other than Steam-Achievements (which didn't work for me btw). Fits nice. But that's about it. On sale for -90% that'S fine. But for the full price I'd be pissed. The story in a puzzle game is neglectable, in my opinion, so let's put that aside. But the puzzles themself should be then decent, right? Well, major part of most of the puzzles is finding X pieces for a puzzle, which then is usually a rather simple and unchallening logic puzzle. You probably gonna waste 5 solid minutes to find 16-pixel-sized specs, which blend into the background, for a puzzle, just to be done with it within 15 seconds. At some point (one puzzle) it ramps up to medical study-cognition-reaction-test-level, but that's it. For some reasona 2D platforming portion is thrown in, in which you are supposed to shoot enemies with a gun. Controls are nice, but gun does no apparent damage. Also, you constanly have to traverse the current section to search for the specs for the puzzles, but have to wait until the protagonist marches through the scene. You probably say that's not as bad, but in outer space that takes ages and the character animation suggests odd paths of movement: "Jumping forward in low gravity is achieved by the character jumping UP first and then magicly thrusting forward" For some reason it was decided that a voice actor was needed. I don't get why, since the elemental information of what to do, you have to read yourself (I don't mind doing that, but why do you need a VA for Intro, gametitle, and outro then?). Also throughout hte game I couldn't overcome the feeling that a not unsbstantial amount of money was used to buy stock photos, to alter them into steam-punk look. Not that I have a problem with that, but it just jumps out every time. I really wanted to like this game and appreciate the effort, but for the normal price and the fact that I have seen flashgames (for free), which have a better story and better more demanding puzzles, I would not recommend. If you get it on a sale, toss the $, € or whatever. It's ok. But the full price? Nope
pros + cool steampunk and 18th. century aesthetics and atmosphere + story reminds to you Jules Verne's stories. (İt's not well developed, though) + plenty of puzzles and mini games. there are also some 1990's type arcade and action games. (arcade and action games don't fit in this kind of game, though) + there is a tutorial + there are some cool looking visuals + there is a hint system (it's not so helpful, though) cons - game confuses severe pixel hunting with finding hidden objects. there is an hint system though, it helps to you where the items are but it's not very helpful. - frustrating timed mini games - mostly obscure puzzle solutions - memory mini games. i hate them - background musics getting quickly annoying. i muted it. - there is no skip option for mini games. you have to play and complete all of them - character's slow movement. (especially when he arrived to moon. there is no gravity on there you know!) - game short - there are no cards and steam achievements don't work. Overall, despite i love steampunk aesthetics and general atmosphere, as a video game this is more frustrating than enjoyable.
It's a point and click with little to no substance. As you explore the area, you come across pictures with modern people in old timey clothes. Which blended with the random posters everywhere, it makes no sense to include these pictures because you have no idea who these people are or what importance they are to the story. The puzzles you can solve by fumbling around and assist function in this game doesn't work half the time. I'm glad I got this game from a sale because it would not be worth 7$ (Also, ps, the achievements don't pop until you've beaten the game.
I don't know how this is award winning.. You know what I love in my games? Maths and REALLY slow moving scenes! Spend your entire play-through of this game 5cm away from your screen looking for the tiniest object just to realise you can just hit the Tesla coil and find it immediately, £5.19... ain't worth it chief... 0/10 :PNK (Probably Not Kyle)
Keep your eyes happy and DO NOT play this game. No adventure, no steampunk and no achievements. BUT there's Great Cthulhu and he's steampunking laughing at you
