Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 1 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
I enjoyed the story; I especially liked when you get snippets of a hero's/character's personality through stories they share when rescued.
Awesome game, can return and replay it doesn't get boring. SOD 3 needs to hurry up

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Game studios who want to make a the walking dead game, should take notes from State of Decay. Despites this game being decade old, it is still WAY better than those zombie looting "game". Sure this game could get boring, jaring, or even repetitive overtime, but for an old game like this? It's ahead of its time in terms of gameplay and mechanics if you compare this to newgen zombie games (no glaze)
Just as fun as the sequel. A good game to get on sale if you enjoy searching for materials, fighting tons of zombies and minor base building. A true little gem.
1 of the best deep dive story zombie survival game I ever came across 10 outta 10 game I highly suggest getting it
straight up trash
Nota Geral | Overall Rating
State of Decay: Year One is a game with an interesting concept that falls short in technical execution. The base management and open world survival amid a zombie outbreak work well on paper, and the decision to make every character permanently lost when they die is a bold mechanic few games in the genre have the courage to keep. But the package as a whole carries technical and polish issues that keep the game from reaching the potential its core idea suggests.
Jogabilidade | Gameplay
The base management system is the heart of the game, forcing the player to balance resources, group morale, and defenses against zombie attacks. Permadeath gives real weight to every supply run, since losing a favorite survivor to a poorly calculated decision genuinely hurts. Switching between different characters, each with their own abilities that improve with use, keeps exploration interesting even after several hours of play.
The main campaign already delivers a good amount of content, but it's the ongoing survival system that really stretches out the playtime. There's always another rescue mission, another resource to find, or another survivor to recruit, which keeps the player coming back even after completing the main story objectives.
Enredo | Story
The plot is functional, but it's far from the game's strong point. The premise of surviving the zombie outbreak in the fictional Trumbull Valley is interesting, but the characters don't get the development needed to create real attachment beyond the mechanical weight of permadeath. It's a story that serves as context for the gameplay, but isn't memorable on its own.
Visual
The visuals are dated, even taking into account the game's origin as a lower budget title. The textures are simple, character modeling is generic, and the Trumbull Valley environments, while functional for exploration, don't offer much visual variety between the different areas of the map.
The soundtrack is too understated, almost nonexistent for most of the playtime, which takes away some of the tension a more present score could add to dangerous moments. The zombie and combat sound effects do the basics, but nothing here comes close to standing out.
