The Bug menace is spreading. Retake and rebuild strategic bases, construct refineries, and complete high-stakes objectives to wrest control from the swarm. With massive maps featuring unique environmental hazards—from the blinding sandstorms of Valaka to the volcanic hellfire of Agni Prime—every mission is a desperate struggle for humanity’s future.
16-Player Co-Op: Coordinate between your squads to defend objectives, gather resources, and build the ultimate fortress.
Strategic Base Building: Use the refined ping system and building tools to erect walls, towers, and ammo stations in real-time.
The Carnage System: Experience the visceral reality of war as Bug corpses pile up, creating persistent physical terrain that changes the battlefield.
Intense Class-Based Combat: Master six distinct classes, each with deep progression, unique weapons, and specialized perks.
Dynamic Environment: The Bug menace is not the only thing you’ll have to contend with. The game features a time of day and dynamic weather system, which can help or hinder your cause.
The Ranger (Assault Infantry)
The Ranger is the premier boots-on-the-ground combatant, built for speed and agility. Equipped with a specialized jetpack, Rangers can rapidly traverse the battlefield to scout objectives or execute hit-and-run strikes. They excel in close-quarters combat, utilizing a versatile arsenal to keep the swarm at bay while maintaining high survivability. Whether flanking a Tiger Elite or rushing to a distant refinery, the Ranger’s mobility ensures they are always where the fighting is thickest. For the Trooper who wants to stay nimble and lethal, the Ranger is the ultimate tip of the spear.
The Sniper (Marksman/Recon) The Sniper serves as the eyes and ears of the Vanguard. Utilizing jump jets to reach high vantage points, they provide unparalleled reconnaissance and long-range fire support. Armed with the Morita XXX Sniper Rifle, they specialize in neutralizing high-priority threats like Plasma Grenadiers and Gunners before they can decimate the squad. The Sniper’s role is critical for identifying incoming waves and ensuring the team isn't blindsided. By perching atop mountains of dead bugs or high ridges, they can turn the hostile environment into a hunter's paradise, picking off Arachnids with surgical precision.
The Demolisher (Explosives Specialist) When the swarm becomes an impenetrable wall, the Demolisher breaks it. This class is an expert in all things explosive, trading subtlety for raw, area-of-effect destruction. Carrying a heavy mortar system on their back and a variety of grenade launchers, they can evaporate entire packs of Drones and Warriors in a single volley. The Demolisher thrives in high-pressure sieges, using their "Watkins Trigger" to clear out bug-infested zones. They are the heavy hitters necessary for holding the line during extraction, ensuring that no matter how many bugs arrive, they leave as green mist.
The Guardian (Heavy Defense) The Guardian is the Federation’s foremost defensive juggernaut. Clad in hardened armor plates and wielding the Morita MK3 SAW, they are built to anchor the frontline. Their core ability, Siege Mode, allows them to hunker down, increasing defensive stats and weapon stability at the cost of mobility. This makes them human turrets, capable of suppressing massive hordes while protecting more fragile teammates. If a base wall falls, the Guardian stands in the gap. They don't just kill bugs; they hold the ground that the Federation has paid for in blood.
The Engineer (Support/Logistics) The Engineer is the master of the base and the backbone of logistics. They are responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing the structures that keep the Vanguard alive. Engineers repair fortifications faster than any other class and can deploy specialized tools like flamethrowers and mines to create lethal choke points. Beyond construction, they manage the team's resource flow, ensuring ammo stations are stocked and defenses are reinforced during the heat of battle. A good Engineer doesn't just build a base; they turn a simple outpost into an impenetrable fortress of death.
The Medic (Support/Healing) Whenever a Trooper is down, the Medic is there to save the day. Equipped with a Medical UAV drone and stim-launchers, they can provide critical healing and long-distance revives even in the middle of a chaotic firefight. While every Trooper can perform a basic revive, the Medic does it faster and more effectively, keeping the squad’s combat effectiveness at its peak. They are the glue that holds the 16-player team together during prolonged missions, ensuring that every Trooper makes it home.
The Carnage System introduces a revolutionary persistent body system where defeated bug corpses no longer vanish. As you slay hundreds of Arachnids, their bodies pile up, creating literal mountains of gore, which can either be a help or hinderance, depending on the situation.
Gameplay Impact:
Dynamic Terrain: Dead bugs have full-body collision. These piles create new ramps that allow living bugs to climb over your walls, or provide Troopers with new high-ground vantage points.
Obstacles: Piles of corpses can block your line of sight or obstruct your path to extraction, forcing you to use explosives to clear the landscape.
Strategic Realism: You must manage the carnage. Ignoring a massive pile of dead bugs at your gate might give the next wave the perfect staircase right into your base!

159 hours here, mostly sniper and medic there are good times if you have low ping and teammates that don't treat every FPS game like It's cod but those are hard to find players. Hit reg is poor especially with big sniper gun. BS 1 second time to pull out healing item before Fire 1 shot kills you needs to be fixed. Overall it's inconsistent fun and the engine is still poorly optimized. A lot of potential here, but Devs don't fix key issues, instead they release skin packs. Latest update with mechs is a lot of fun until you get squished by teammates in mech suit who don't see you coming up with repair tool or fresh ammo. Too many players constantly moving around when bugs follow a very predictable path. Like if it's a shooter imagine team mates running from window to window while the enemy will ALWAYS come through the door. maybe this game is Good enough for some people, but I have higher standards. I've kept with it hoping for cores issues to be fixed, but nope. So I'm gone. Really tried hard to love this game.
Want to know more? Please not that this kind of a limited recommendation: Starship Troopers: Extermination is a great game if you are into the Starship Troopers Universe. It captures the feeling of battles against hordes of bugs in a remarkable way and the community of players also is great. However, Starship Troopers: Extermination struggle with the fact that its developers are dedicated and genuinely come across nice, but implement things slowly and often long after they should have been. As an example, daily missions only have been added recently while similar games would most likely start out with them. There are a lot of classes and weapons, that serve different playstyles and one can level those classes as well as weapons. However, the reenlistment system the game has sets back the level of your class (but not your weapons) once you reach level hundred and agree to reenlist. A fact I found rather tedious after the second time… A further problem is that most players you will encounter are nice but the player base is small at this point. You will find games, but might have to switch servers or wait several minutes if you want to play a certain mission or type of mission. So, all in all: If you like team-based horde shooters set and/or Starship trooper you can give it a try – because as you know: Service guarantees Citizenship!
Extremely laggy, and will lag your entire computer, even outside the game, it will lag your browser, and your apps. WASTED 40 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOLLARS
the game's overall not bad but there are a lot of things that needs fixing first the good. reasonably solid gameplay loop and definitely not that difficult to learn the basics. feels faithful to the movie and it feels way more balanced than whatever helldivers 2 is trying to pull off. base building feels easy to do and the slight resourcing aspect is pretty interesting in a good way. also there seems to be a type of story and the game also at least feels like its rewarding your participation. also the 4x 4-man team feels sufficiently chaotic while not feeling limited overall. the bad. the weapon selection feels pretty limited in comparison to a lot of games so hopefully there are more things to use later. the game visually doesn't feel like its worth the price tag but this is a smaller issue. the singleplayer mode feels buggy and unfinished; you have very limited options on what you can tell your team mates to do and you have to walk up to them to do it and there's a bug in one of the early missions when you cannot place a gas resource into the bin. the iron sights on the guns generally feel terrible to use and i think its more of how the zoom was implemented... i see more of the gun's handle than the sight itself. there also seem to be some issues with the intro video since its lagging. overall there really doesn't feel like a lot to do despite the game being out for 3 years overall... yea would recommend. game does need more players at the moment too
I HATE bugs
The game is rough around the edges but an overall blast. It features really large scale and chaotic battles and a good varity of game modes (depends on server region your chance of getting in though). The classes are fun and there is some good unlock progression that is grindy but you unlock lots of stuff fast so you are always trying something new. Overall 8/10 game and it feels like a hd2 "seaf" game. (also you can get this game for 5 dollars on key websites)
Why do all games take a stupid amount of time to level things up. Bro, let us get to the fun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ part of your game.
Once upon a time I really loved that game, as my playtime may prove. It was cool, it was unique, it was something else that welded players together against a threat so hardcore and intimidating that nobody dared to go alone and do their own thing. Sadly, with the official release the history of its downhill track began with a severe fall, and now, a few years after the game's first EA days, nothing of what made the game great is left. Only powercreep and a very... unique... community. If you're looking for a game in which you can switch off your brain, put a weight on your left mouse button so you continue to shoot endless while going afk, and still play at the top of the "leaderboard" while winning any match, this is just the game you've been wanting all along and I can actually recommend it, IF you don't mind the many many bugs (without the capital B) that are still present, some of them for years now, and can partially be game-breaking. Unable to climb/unable to run/pathfinding broken for months over months causing many bugs to run circles or not move at all/infrequent game crashes/ poorly optimized perfomance that generates severe lags even on high end machines/bugs that render you unable to continue playing or prevent you from booting the game at all without looking up solutions/ instable servers that show you a 40ms ping but play like 200ms as well as overall server lags so severe that bugs are teleporting while doing the walking animation on the spot/ invisible bugs that dig out near you, but only on the server side and you on the client side can't see what's attacking you... Been there, seen that, and that's just the tip of the iceberg of bugs I encountered over the years, many of them still present up to this day. I don't say it'll happen to you since you very well CAN have a mostly clean experience if Lady Luck favors you but I think you should know what you're getting yourself into before actually buying the game. :3 If you're looking for a serious game with actually good gameplay and decent mechanics, a game that delivers and allows you to immerse in a universe of its own, I suggest you go look elsewhere since you won't find what you're looking here, you're years too late for that. ST:E now can be described as a one-man show in which each of the 16 players can easily solo objectives once reaching re-enlistment 2 under most circumstances. A very, very, veeery few mutators still require at least 4 of 16 troopers to collaborate in vital roles to pull the rest of the team through, but those are, like, 1 outta 10 games if I'm generous. Teamwork is still being promoted officially, but in truth it's just a boon and utterly optional unlike in the old days. Classes are being sold as unique nowadays, but by now - once you unlock weapon masteries! - every class is pretty much the same save for minor differences and the ability you can deploy. I guess when all's said and done, the game's decent enough if you can look past all the detoriations this game has gone through, but it's nowhere near as glorious as it once was. I truly loved and admired the game, but I have to finally admit to myself that I hate what it has become. For me, as someone who is used to fps games and a dedicated gamer, the game has become plain boring over a year ago. A single mutator is left that makes games fun to me but if you aren't on in the 1 or 2 hours it's available on the limited map selection... Well, tough luck! To sum it up I guess... You'll get your share of fun I'm sure, especially if you're a fan of the franchise, but in my opinion once you unlocked all classes/perks/weapon upgrades/etc. pp. you're bound to notice that the game lacks long-term entertainment value aside from socializing but only throws monotone and repetitive tasks at you which can be completed solo if you got a sliver of skill but are supposed to be multi-player missions, and of course they get just that much easier with 1 or 2 more people. If you ask me the Bug aren't a threat at all anymore, but only victims waiting to be stomped, at least in what have become of this portion of the universe!
This game sucks.
has DLCs required to unlock some perks that are very strong.
