Reviews
The game seems fun, however the frame rate, and or controls of ship make the game unplayable. Playing on a high end PC and every time I exit the game PC Freezes and crashes.
There are a LOT of startup options. This adds a lot to the Starpoint Gemini game which makes it a lot more interesting for me to play.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

BRA OCH ROLIGT SPEL
I don’t remember how this game got into my wish list, but when it went on sale I decided to buy the whole “collection”. The game is an ok 7/10 game (I only played the main campaign and titans DLC). It will give you some good time, but nothing too great. At first it gave me some Freelancer vibes (and I LOVE Freelancer), but only a very limited ones. It soon became apparent that this game is very different. There is nowhere near the same exploration element to the game. Yeah you can get some things and small bonuses but not like in Freelancer where all the most powerful stuff was hidden. Bigger ships are locked behind leveling system. Most of the game balance is centered on leveling system. The higher your level gets the tougher your enemies get. However weapons are not locked in the same manner. So if you manage to get enough money you can install absolutely any gun including most powerful ones from the start. Which gets me to the issue. In this game trade is OP as hell. To get to a new level you typically need to complete several tasks (like 3-5 in the beginning). Or in just one run from starting station to starting planet and back (provided you use freighter) you will already get yourself enough XP to level up. And that is just a downward spiral. Trade makes so much XP that in 10 minutes you will already be able to buy yourself a battleship. If you choose to continue to get enough money to buy a freightliner (a much bigger freighter essentially) then you will be lvl30 (which unlocks all possible ships in the game). With freightliner you will already be able to easily make tens of millions of credits per run. I guess the developers tried to limit the trade by limiting the amount of goods available for purchase but they messed something up because you can instantly restock the goods by simply taking off and landing again (you literally have to press only 2 buttons for goods to reappear: ESC and Alt). You can’t restock consumables like shield boost this way, but you can restock the goods. So in a matter of less than an hour you can make enough XP and money to buy yourself one of the best ships and fit it with top of the line weapons. And then for most of the fights you can just go AFK for a minute while your ship just wrecks the hell out of enemy fleets. And also you will have enough money to just buy out all other stations in the galaxy which makes some storyline elements kind of silly when you “hack” communications of your own station or have to do some work for the corporation you already own to get the data you need. That is kind of sad because this game has some good mechanics when it comes to combat and boarding enemy ships. Trying to manage your shields and weapons energy is engaging at first, but at higher levels it just becomes useless as pretty much nothing would be able to deal noticeable damage to even penetrate your shields. And sadly this makes the game boring at the higher levels as it is just fly in and wait for your guns to finish off another swarm of enemies who has no hope of dealing damage to you. I had only encountered bugs two times. Once when in the main storyline where I needed to beat a faction which I already wiped from the galaxy the game didn’t allow me to proceed, but a reload from previous mission fixed that. Another one is about Titans DLC when you need to conquer territories in a somewhat different way but I figured out that it was more about upgrading your garrisons and grinding down the enemy ones in fights rather than a regular capturing of the garrisons. Overall I had some good time with the game, maybe different campaigns will make the game more engaging.
130 hours and im so far not done with the campagne. I don't recommend it because i run into missing informations all over the place. Its not only the UI which is missing informations about: -Boarding crew status -Research status -Ship construction status -Im missing an overview about the trading offers of the different stations so to trade what you need you need to scroll all over the place and click on each offer to see what they trade. -The research for the Prosperity was a massive letdown... It costed 20.000.000 credits with no further informations about where or how i can then build the ship. When it was done i found out the ship is another 110.000.000 creds which is 6.5 times its estimated costs in total and puts it at the very bottom of the "can afford" list. At which point the ship is no longer needed. -Planets are immune to attacks untill you reach a certain point in the story? Im sitting right now at the doorstep of an pirate planet with my fleet behind me and had to look up how to conquer an planet. Now i know that i need the Proxima shipyard to engage an planet. -Im missing an hotkey to send out civilian fleets. Also an way to automate this would be great because after some time it gets tedious to the point where i don't even bother sending my 12 fleets away. I also belive that i will get more of them making it even more tedious. -When switching to an Dreadnought (might also be an problem with the carryer), the tactic overlay becomes so big that you need to zoom out in order to see it. The number in the rear shield bar are still "barely" readable, if at all. -When turning on auto fiering mode, every single of your weapons wants to fire at the same target, instate of looking for an target seperately. This leads to 1/3 to halve of my turrets not shooting. It can easily be observed when using red beam weapons in the front, left and right but blue beams in the back, they barely open fire even when there are ships behind me. At least each battery should go for their own target. Overall an great game concept which needed some more time in the oven and maybe 3-6 months on early access. Update: I ran into an 8 year old bug where the proxima shipyard building location does not show up on the starmap ... I had to edit my save file on order to make it visible. This is unacceptable to have an gamebreaking bug this long in the game.
Something could have been done with the basics of SPG Warlords. Unfortunately, at least one of the lead developers seems to have had a real screw-up. He constantly wants to force the player's actions in the missions, instead of just letting the sandbox be a sandbox. For example, you can't jump freely without explanation and have to go to certain destinations without meaning. That's really annoying. Aside from that, the game quickly becomes repetitive as conquered zones fall back and forth.

This is a terrible, dull, boring game. I kept expecting it to get better, but it doesn't. Somewhere around mission 3-4 you have to capture a science station ... except you can't, it's not possible. A bit of research suggest there is some sort of scripted solution, but good luck figuring it out. In additional, to an unclear script, you apparently have to have a ship several levels above what you are given. So, go quest, "go fetch", "go fetch", boring until your eyes bleed. So maybe you can, hopefully, get the right script elements to pop to get to the next mission, at that point, I assume everything repeats with the next mission. If you have a kid that hates to do their homework, force em to play this for an hour, they will be begging to do their homework, anything to escape the monotonous boredom. Supposedly, there is all sorts of "content" here, but it's unavailable. I tried to explore, but that's forbidden, try to go anywhere and the ship starts to fall apart. Even better, there doesn't seem to be a way to go full screen, so if you move your mouse too far, it stops registering (still shows, but doesn't move, maybe you get two mouse cursor, or maybe not). After you play the game (NO MATTER WHAT RES), all your other desktop Windows are resized to what looks like 640x480 (I was playing 1920x1080 on a 4K screen scaled 200%). The game plays in what looks like a standard window (frame and taskbar visible), but resized all your other windows. I spend three hours hoping something would get better. That is apparently 1 hr longer than Steam allows for returns. I guess Steam reviews are about as useful as Amazon reviews. If you want a move sand from one hole to another with a teaspoon game, with a closed narrow broken scripting system that fails out of the gate, this is the game for you.
