Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you're old enough to remember Starflight 1/2 and Star Control 2, this is the game for you.
Starcom is not what I expected. It is a quiet game of exploration, so far, with moments where I also have to shoot some enemy spaceships in the face. It is me exploring each planet in a star system, and then using the local "flinger" network to move myself to the next system, to explore the next series of planets. Each planet will be scanned. If an anomaly is found, it will be invested. If nothing is found, on to the next planet. In some cases, there won't be a "flinger" gate to propel me to the next system--and, instead, I'll just have to fly *between* the systems. Sometimes, very rarely, I've encountered a derelict between the stars, and that is really neat. Someone described it to me as "you're the exploration ship from Stellaris, doing anomalies," and that pitch isn't so far off. It's that pitch, actually, that prompted me to buy the game. It's also the closest thing, I think, to a "Star Trek: Voyager" simulator. Finally, it's been a quiet treat exploring the game so far, It seems it takes place after some Foundation-esque collapse of a great empire, leaving the smaller star-nations to struggle in maintaining both control *and* function over their areas. The writing is smart. On my current mission to survey a "cepheid variable star," I was thinking to myself that "cepheid variable" refers to a star that has a variable size and temperature. Goes up and down. I remember this from any number of Youtube videos about stars that I've watched. Slight spoiler, but when you reach the star, you discover it was catalogued -in error- as a cepheid variable star because there's a megastructure in orbit around the star "occluding the star's output," per the game. What a delightful anomaly to investigate. :) So, again. The writing is smart. I like it. Again, I was reluctant to purchase the title. it's been on my wishlist for awhile. But I'm very glad I picked it up. My only complaint is that the music could be better. :P

its good not great, its SPAZ with more Mass effect scanning, it gets dull then it gets exciting then scan rinse and repeat, will finish the game, but there will be no second play
I see others seem to like this game. I guess Im the 1 in 10 people who think its sub-par at best. Its just classic poor game design. The objectives are unclear. The next place you are suppost to go is also unclear and frustrating. You are forced to scan things constantly along the way for reasons unknown and for a game where I just want to turn my brain off and shoot stuff in space...constantly having to scan everything boarders the absurd. Your ship runs on a stamina system which for a lack of a better word...is frustrating!
It's decent on sale. The combat is not fully realized, after midpoint in the game it becomes very simple. Trading isn't very important. There's a lot of systems that aren't very fully realized, but for a fixed plot game rather than a RNG universe, and for its length, it's fine. There are better games in the genre but again for the price it's ok.
I got this on a whim and quite enjoyed my time. I played it pretty aggressively and got about 30 hours of gameplay from it. If you were a bit more chill it is likely a 40 hour deal to do EVERYTHING. I would recommend no guides. Read, pay attention to your ship mates when they do coms as it is the heart of the game. This is a combination of cozy with sudden jumps in intensity.
