Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 17 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've seen so little movement on this I am beginning to wonder if it was abandoned. There's a lot of potential here.
Other reviews repeatedly call this game a 'Crusader Kings in space'. This is largerly true:

Both depict feudal societies where internal politics and vassal management are paramount. In Star Dynasties, this is clearly inspired by Dune (other tropes from the series, such as 'declining interstellar civilization' are present too).
Both are character-driven games: individuals matter as much as territory, personality traits affect gameplay, and you manage a dynasty rather than a nation-state. (That said, the RPG elements here are minimal - there are no lifestyles, perks, or similar progression systems.)
Both rely on emergent storytelling rather than a scripted narrative, and both present intrigue and covert manipulation as major play paths .
That said, Star Dynasties differs from Crusader Kings in several important ways:

Some differences are immediately apparent. The game is turn-based, with a limited number of actions available each turn (primary in-game resource). The setting is procedurally generated with random houses, neighbors, political layouts, etc (this boosts unpredictability but reduces historical/narrative flavor and attachment to factions). Finally, the endgame focuses on 4X-style expansion, so 'playing tall' is not really an option.
The game revolves around a morality system. Defending your family, honoring promises, and delivering proportionate justice earn legitimacy, while violating these expectations weakens your rule. Nothing prevents you from declaring war without a claim or casus belli, but doing so is usually a bad idea, as vassals are likely to abandon a dishonorable liege. This makes conquest more difficult and encourages diplomacy and intrigue instead.
The overall scale is much smaller: the map contains only a few dozen star systems, with each star effectively serving as a province. There are also fewer gameplay systems - no religion or culture, and only a minimal economy. On a positive side, this also means that the game is easy to learn and campaigns are much shorter.
In short, Star Dynasties borrows heavily from Crusader Kings - especially Crusader Kings II rather than III - but its original mechanics, particularly the morality system, give it a distinct identity.

This is a deceptively difficult game, its a good mix of stellaris and CK2 but with all the grind taken out of it, and none of the annoying paid for DLC, the base game works fine without bloodlines but the bloodlines DLC is both cheap and adds something genuinely helpful in the game. It is rare to find a game that encourages patience in todays market but this game does. Go to fast and your empire WILL collapse. You must wait and play slow, you must scheme and plot, you must keep everyone happy. Sometime you must shrink to grow again, playing the longest game is the way to win. I like how you win when you have half the galaxy under your control but have the option to keep playing to see if you can conquer the rest. A game i will replay many times. First run was false start and ended badly, second run took 25hrs to complete, by year 50, after 2 rulers, Father and granddaughter. A bargain at the current sale price, but worth it at full price, dont hesitate to buy. Then enjoy.
It is good, but could use a little more work. Don't understand why the devs abandoned it.
It's no Crusader Kings, and it's a bit rough around the edges, but it has a certain charm. For an indie game, I would say it is pretty well done. The setting is very similar to the Mechwarrior or Dune universe where interstellar travel and technology exist, but they are in a state of stagnation or decline and the government has devolved back into feudalism. The game doesn't do anything incredibly revolutionary, but it is competent. If you like these kinds of games, it's definitely worth getting on sale.
Nevermind Stellaris, this is Crusader Kings 3 in space. Case in point. In the tutorial campaign, which you can keep playing after the tutorial itself wraps up, I learned that my wife is cheating on me with one of my brothers. I chose not to publicly expose the secret because both my brother and my wife are valuable members of my interstellar kingdom's council. So instead, I arranged a marriage between my brother and a woman from a minor noble house on one of the colony planets. They seemed happy. But, within a turn or so after their marriage, I set about to try to seduce her. And it worked. So now while my brother is my wife's side piece, both of whom I profess to love dearly, my brother's wife, who I chose for him, is my concubine. I don't know if this game is a masterpiece or not. But as in CK3, if you like being a messy diva who causes drama, then it's wonderful.
Star Dynasties is genuinely one of the most unique strategy games I’ve ever played. It blends dynastic politics, space exploration, and personal storytelling in a way that feels refreshing in a genre that’s usually overcrowded with the same mechanics and styles. What stood out to me immediately was the UI — it’s not cluttered, overly complicated, or overwhelming. Everything is clean, readable, and surprisingly easy to understand for a game with this many layers. Even with only a few hours played so far, I’m absolutely in love with this game. The narrative hooks you fast, and the way the galaxy’s politics shift based on personal relationships and character decisions makes the whole space setting feel incredibly alive. The plot is engaging, and I’m already fully invested in my empire’s fate. If I had one wish, it’s that the game were just a bit more detailed in certain areas. It has such a great foundation that you can’t help but want even more depth, more systems, and more complexity to dig into. Honestly, a second installment — expanding on everything this game does right — feels not just wanted but needed. Highly recommend for anyone who loves grand strategy
Unfortunately, the game still has limited accessibility in terms of language. It does not support Brazilian Portuguese (or other widely used languages), offering only English and German. Since the game is heavily based on text and decision-making, this can make the experience harder for players who are not fluent in English.
you can be gay but it's such a headache. it's fun, don't get me wrong but it took me three tries to finally get my lesbian empire plans off the ground. i'm not sure if i liked the game or not.
