A good remake of the good old favorite Star Control game. Has the aliens, the humor, and everything else!
I love this game and the original Star Control 2 it is trying to improve upon. Some of the same spirit exists, but despite being graphically superior and having a more organized and streamlined plot, it has lost much of the spirit from the original, which is clearly still better, despite being over 20 years older. Some of the achievements are also bugged and from the comments, have clearly been that way for around 3 years and Stardock seems to not care to fix them, even though they are aware of them. Multiple years of poor/slow/failing support for achievements they know are broken but are too "busy" to fix doesn't look good. Care about your product all the way please. Honor Paul's hard work and vision, don't make players go through a weird process to get an earlier version of the game when the achievements still worked instead of fixing it.
Great game to sit back and take your time while playing. very vast world, lots to see and explore. Some stuff may get repetitive, like the item collecting. But overall i have enjoyed this game, and look forward to completing it.

This is a thumbs up, but a very weak one. Never played the originals. There's just not enough meat in core gameplay to sustain 20+ hours. Game gets very repetetive. Also the credits soon lose any meaning as theres not enough money sinks, I got over 300k by the end. The various bizzare aliens you meet are often hillarious (including the voice acting) and there is a lot of various alien ships that join your fleet, to try in combat. No bugs or technical problems were encountered worthy of mentioning.
10/10 Game (tasteful humor as a cherry on top) Love it. Cant stop playing it. Really one of a kind.
As fun as the old version
Fun but not exceptional.
Much better than I expected... great classic sci with geniunely funny bits of dialogue.... ZERO DEI nonsense detected 5 hours in.
