Unfortunately, I have to say I do not recommend this game. Don't get me wrong, I used to absolutely ADORE this game when I was younger, and decided to splurge and buy it for myself - and it won't open properly. It's glitched out so that I can only see the bottom right 2/3 of the screen, can't get it to go full screen, and cant click on any buttons other than the exit button. I have tried many workthroughs found online, none of them work. So, be aware! So sad, because I absolutely love this game, and am devestated to not be able to play it
Sad to say, but do not buy this game you cant even open the game. Its so sad because i love this game but it just opens for a second and closes itself without saying why it crashed, such a shame.
I've had the CD-ROM version of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Deluxe (Soaked! & Wild) in middle school. To have the deluxe version of this game via Steam is a dream re-lived 16 years later. I thoroughly enjoy this game and its a great past time. The graphics are great and the challenges can be challenging, but fun and interactive. 10/10 recommend!
As someone who owned this game as a kid, and spent countless hours building themed amusement parks and torturing guests, I can happily say that this game feels exactly how I remember it! My only criticism is that the game crashes whenever you try to save any custom peeps you create. Apart from that, it's perfect, and it's made the child in me incredibly happy. :) If you're someone who enjoys tycoon simulation games, you'll enjoy this tycoon entry. Along with scenarios that challenge you're ability to uphold a thriving amusement park, there's also a sandbox, so you can build the amusement park of your dreams with unlimited funds. The included expansion packs also allow you to build waterparks and safaris/zoos, so it's almost like two tycoon games in one! It's one of of my all-time favorite games; hasn't disappointed me in the past, and isn't going to disappoint me anytime soon. :)
Love, love, love. One of my fav RCT Games out of the group. From sandbox to career play, there are never ending possibilties to this game. The variety of the waterpark, zoo and rollercoasters definitely add to the fun.
I am unable to play period due to the placement of the open screen that puts it to my top left where i can not drag it down not does Alt Enter work to reposition it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. same problem
Fun game. Art-style is still nice, even though it is getting dated. Still, real nostalgia. Bloom is horribly overblown to the point of being completely broken; do NOT turn on bloom... beaches will dissapear in a smear of bloom. Also, on modern systems, reflections start to flicker. Wish Atari would also have looked into possibly fixing these technological issues with the game in March 2026, when they added Simplified Chinese localization to the game. Was such a nice chance to dig into fixing these issues. Hope they still will in the future. Maybe a remaster would genuindely not be a bad idea; unlocked FPS, improved performance (upgraded renderer?), even further improved planar reflections (using higher quality models), improved anti-aliasing, much improved real-time shadows, SSAO, improved texture quality, slight increase in polygon-count of in-game models etc. All to make sure they adhere to the original vision, but still in improved remastered form. They still have the source code (and hopefully the original art-assets as well), so they could very well do it. With them having released this game for current-gen consoles (except for the Switch 2), I don't see this happening soon, but maybe in a few years.... Think it would be financially viable for them to do that.
This is a fantastic theme park simulation game that takes the classic formula and brings it into a full 3D world. Being able to build, customize, and ride your own roller coasters adds a whole new level of immersion and creativity. The biggest strength is the freedom you have when creating your parks. Designing attractions, managing guests, improving your park, and watching everything come together is incredibly satisfying. The career scenarios offer plenty of variety, while the sandbox mode gives you endless possibilities. The main downside is that some management systems feel a little basic compared to newer simulation games. The controls can also take some time to get used to, and the presentation shows its age in certain areas. Overall, this is a great evolution of the series with a lot of charm and replay value. It may not have the depth of modern park builders, but the creativity and fun of building your own theme park still make it a great experience.
Just a thumb up for now. Always had lots of fun with this, but need to get back into the game befor ei wwant to say much more about it.
