About
Squad is the embodiment of tactical military action. Compete in massive-scale 50 vs. 50 battles in the most realistic combined-arms first-person shooter. Squad emphasizes combat realism through teamwork, tactics, and authentic warfare. A wide selection of realistic faction-specific weapons and vehicles allow players to build their own loadouts that best suit their preferred tactics. And with Squad’s unique Picture-in-Picture scopes, it’s like you’re really aiming at the enemy through real military-issue scopes.
Featuring 13 factions, 24 massive maps, and a sweeping arsenal of weapons and vehicles, Squad creates a heart-thumping, visceral shooter experience that requires split-second decision-making in intense, realistic firefights.
Fireteam is Squad's new PvE gamemode that has launched with Update 10.1. This up to 5-player co-op PvE mode condenses the game’s most memorable moments into shorter, intense tactical missions. Four missions are available to all Squad players. Those who wish to support the ongoing development of Fireteam can choose to purchase either the Supporter or Founder pack - linked from this page.
Squad creates authentic combat experiences while pitting conventional and unconventional factions against each other. As part of a 50 person team, join a nine-person squad to face off against opposing factions in intense combat across large real-world environments. Squad features 13 factions from all over the world, including the United States Marine Corps, Australian Defence Force, and Canadian Army among many others.
Squad’s combat was designed to provide the most fun, immersive, and authentic infantry experience possible. With Squad’s core tenets of teamwork and tactics, you’ll have to work together to outmaneuver your enemies with realistic Picture-in-Picture scopes and Squad’s unique Suppression system. Work with your squad to overwhelm the enemy and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!
Adapt to the ever-changing needs of the battlefield. By building fortifications and emplacements or supplying your team with ammunition and materials, you can give your squad the edge. Whether it’s placing HMGs and AT guns or fortifying a position with sandbags, razor wire, and some much-needed ammo, the battlefield is yours to change, if you have the courage to do so.
Solid communication is a soldier's best friend when engaging the enemy. To help facilitate navigating the complexity of communication on the battlefield, Squad provides a world-class in-game VoIP system that allows players to talk to other soldiers locally, in-squad, between squad leaders, or even to the overall team commander. Map tools and in-world markers aid fire team leads and squad leaders to inform their soldiers of on-the-fly engagement tactics.

squad still has 0 idea how to use a cpu, opti is straight up trash, constant 100% cpu, stutters and fps drops even on mid end hw while the gpu is just chillin at like 70% compare it to wardogs, battlefield or arma and it’s night and day. those games actually scale with cores and run smooth. squad feels like it’s stuck in 2015. cool concept but the performance is just painful ngl
The game itself is not bad, it has some interesting gameplay mechanics and provides a nice shooting and tactical experience. But in a multiplayer game, the player base is very important, and let's say the player base in this game is the worst. First of all, you will have to wait an eternity in the lobby to enter at least a half-decent server with enough people on it to actually play the game. But after joining, you will be met with a bunch of sweats on power trips who are blaming everyone but themselves for everything that goes wrong. Those people (with thousands of hours) for some reason seem to like servers oriented toward new players ("new player friendly" tag), and they usually join in groups, thus hoarding vehicles and such. On the opposite end, there are just people that seem to join the game only to aimlessly run around, insult other people, and ruin the game in general. There are also some genuinely nice people who help you learn and enjoy the game, but you will probably only meet one in 10 hours of gameplay. Because of all this, you won't experience what the game promises without, I don't know, having 99 friends to organize a normal game session. I do not recommend playing this game, except if you are one of the people described earlier.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
The Idea of SQUAD is an excellent one.
If well executed few experiences could match it, Its just not well executed anymore. Now I've played SQUAD for years and enjoyed it. Its not that the game hasn't Kept Up but its that its managed to take steps backwards. that bothers me. Its no secret SQUAD now runs worse on the new engine, there is frequent hitching at 60fps, I cant imagine playing at 120 or higher. Somehow game breaking bugs still exist that will just make your entire hud vanish or your map stop working or you just have no UI when you get into the game .
My thoughts
Its a really unfortunate choice that the graphical fidelity of SQUAD has to be deminished due to cataclysmic preformence on mid-range PCs such as mine. And here is an assumption. I'm not alone it this either, many people have expressed this very same sentiment to me. So often is it brought up in-game that; This may even be the actual fact. OWI lacks the ability to optimise the game due to lack or misuse of talent in their studio . I hear this bi-weekly while playing. I'd love to see some preformance improvements pushed so I can stop hearing this broken record. At the end of the day, thank you OWI for the absolute blast I had over the years. But please keep putting effort into your work. the community will love you for it.
fun to play really long learning curve tho, and remeber to join a clan via discord
非常好玩,医生问我没去当兵没上过战场怎么会得PTSD的
Pre-1.0 this game was good and had a lot of promise. Post-1.0 release its been a bumpy ride downwards. Especially after the Infantry Update, when stamina and run speed got nerfed. walking, running, peeking, crouching, prone, it all feels like your moving through molasses. In Squad you will spend all your time walking and bounding from cover to cover. Vehicles are a premium and a rocket magnet so you will be spending a lot of time walking. It was okay in beta because you could get across a field/city/road in decent time. But now you get winded just from running 20m. Then there's the the buggy experience you'll get constantly. Besides all the funky bugs in-game that's been around forever, you will re-install Squad multiple times trying to fix joining a server. Actually you'll be told to do this if you look up any problems you have joining a server. Maybe it'll work, most times not really. Also why does the trailer play every time the game starts? There are rare instances that you can't skip it and that is annoying. From starting the game to the main menu, its built like an advertisement. Like bruh. I already bought your game. They also got rid of the server refresh button for some odd reason. The server auto refresh now which makes it annoying looking at servers. To top it all off there is also mouse stuttering going on in the main menu. It's kind of ridiculous that the front page of the game gives you that lagging experience If this was 8 years ago, I'd recommend Squad as it offered a unique milsim experience that you couldn't get anywhere else. But today, the only thing I play now is the Galactic Contention mod (Star Wars) or whenever a zombie mod gets updated. Even then, it's hard to recommend $40 for a mod built on a game that's buggy af. We have more choices nowadays. You'll get more mileage with those other games.
This is one of those reviews where you can just answer " Git Good " to and I`d take that , yeah, and you would be probably right. - The game just does not feel clear in terms of UI and Commands, Spawn Menu etc . Everything is clunky and chaotic , and its heavily relying on Icons ,which a new player has no idea of what they symbolise . - You spawn, you run 20 mins, someone who you never saw, shoots you and you rinse and repeat. - Being in a squad does not mean you are safe, in fact, they might shoot you or kick you, if you dont play like a pro after 2 hours of installing the game . It happened to me like 7 times now . - You dont really see enemies when it comes to combat, everyone is sniping and hiding, no real sense of importance for other roles. As everyone needs only 1 or 2 bullets to die anyway, why would i bring a really unaccurate machine gun or even an assault rifle. - No close range fighting , so side arms, gadgets, anti-personal mines etc. USeless. - Vehicle control is the most awful i ever experienced. - Player community is NOT beginner friendly, even if a server says that, They will call you an idiot, the moment from logging in to the server. I know " git good " , but cmon, git good after 1 hour of playtime ? gtfo - Spawning system is awful...you get killed then you spawn either in the frontline or back to the base, no inbetweens. I dont know, Im keep trying it, but its not a very well designed game and the combat is not satisfying nor fair , unless you are a sniper, because 80 % of the case a sniper will kill you.
A solid, tactical shooter at its core and certainly worth thinking about buying, even at full price. There's plenty of enjoyment to be had. That being said the enjoyment mostly comes from the interaction with other players rather than the game itself. Many games are like that though and deserve a recommendation. I can't recommend Squad when the game changes what it wants to be every few years whilst breaking parts / failing to fix parts of the game. Ignoring the server browser issues, because who wants to find a server consistently, the most egregious problem for me has been the change to the vehicle physics. Many vehicles have a horrendous driving experience, and for what reason exactly? The game far too often goes from something that works to something different whilst breaking stuff in the process. It's incredibly frustrating. If it weren't for those 'Only in Battlefield' player moments, I wouldn't bother coming back.
Incredibly boring. Huge letdown.
