I was just walking around and suddenly got banned.
The class balance in SpiritVale is poorly handled, and the way the developers are dealing with Weaver is a perfect example of the problem. SpiritVale is fundamentally a monster-farming and loot-grinding game, yet the maps are too small and there are far too few viable areas where players can efficiently farm monsters. As a result, everyone is forced into the same limited farming spots, competing for the same monsters. That is the real reason why kill-stealing and monster competition have become such a problem. Weaver just happens to be a class that can farm monsters more comfortably and efficiently than most other classes because of how its mechanics work. And frankly, I do not even think Weaver's current farming performance is excessive. In a game centered around killing large numbers of monsters for loot, this level of farming efficiency feels closer to what the normal standard should be. Instead of addressing the actual problem — maps being too small, too few viable farming locations, and too many players being forced into the same areas — the developers are trying to reduce Weaver's farming ability by nerfing its equipment. This makes very little sense. Weaver's main purpose is farming monsters. That is essentially what the class is built around. It already has little to no advantage in boss fights or tower climbing, and it is not a class that players normally prioritize when forming groups for difficult content. Even its farming strength is not completely free. If you want Weaver to farm efficiently and comfortably, you still need to invest in good equipment. Without proper gear, the class is nowhere near as smooth or effective as people make it sound. So if you nerf Weaver's equipment and take away its ability to farm efficiently, what exactly is left for the class? It has no real advantage in bossing. It has no real advantage in tower climbing. It is not a preferred class for group content. And now its one meaningful strength — farming — is being reduced as well. More importantly, nerfing Weaver will not actually solve the monster competition problem. If Weaver can take monsters more efficiently today, another class will simply become the best farming class tomorrow. Players will still be crowded into the same small number of farming areas, because the maps themselves have not changed. The problem is not that Weaver can "steal" monsters. The problem is that the maps are too small, there are too few good farming areas, and too many players are being forced to compete for the same monsters. As long as that fundamental problem remains, nerfing one class after another will never fix anything. It only destroys class identity while leaving the actual cause untouched.
As it is right now, I cannot recommend it. Pros: -Simple, easy griding game. -Decent paced character progression. -No inherent P2W, however there are plenty of bots and 3rd party sellers. -Character customization. Cons: -HIGH PING ON ALL SERVERS, monsters teleport and 1 shot you -Frequent disconnects - Spire is the ONLY endgame activity. No endgame groups for NA. Only on SEA server where you have to play 300ms Overall a good experience with frustrating times of lag. I would suggest waiting for the game to have some stability. My advice to the dev stop nerfing/buffing for now. Focus on SERVER STABILITY. the BASE.
While the game itself is pretty decent, the game's servers are having an awful time and playing is not a great experience. Summoner pets are pretty terrible, too, increasing the rank of the summon does nothing, seemingly, other than change it's model. Yay pointless upgrades? Sure, a good number of mmos have problems at launch, but this isn't a "will they fix it in a bit" section, this is a "do i recommend buying and playing it right now" section, and leaving a positive review despite knowing it's a bad experience is a review that's not doing it's job, and is in general dishonest. Oh also, the so called north american servers are plagued with tons of non english speakers. So that's extremely annoying.
