About
Spirit of the Dome is a dark fantasy tower defense game with some rogue-lite and RTS mechanics. Play as a powerful spirit with the ability to summon characters and cast spells to defend against waves of relentless enemies. Every character you create can be moved freely around the map and endlessly upgraded, letting you adapt your strategy as the battlefield grows more dangerous.
The gameplay requires lots of engagement and choices from the player such as, directly shooting at enemies, placing spells around the map, moving your characters into effective formations, and managing your upgrades to get the most value out of each run. The length of your run will depend greatly on your input!
This game has permanent upgrades and skills that you can use across your runs that stack in addition to your "in-game" upgrades. Coins earned from doing challenges and surviving longer can be used to unlock new cards after each game.
Enemy waves, events, and upgrades are randomized, forcing unique decisions every run and constantly shifting how you survive. Each map introduces new challenges and opportunities, testing your luck and keeping every playthrough exciting.

Reviews
Surprisingly it's actually quite fun, it certainly needs some polish and maybe some balance changes, for example I got wave 17 on a map giving me 3rd place leaderboard and could only afford one upgrade card it just feels a bit lacking in the rewards side, but maybe that's just me. Recommend to at least give it a go, the screenshots don't really do the gameplay justice.
Came for Deformed, Stayed for Deformed Studios, this is a great little game that Deformed Studios put together. Honestly brought back tons of nostalgia from the old Armor Games days. This guy DOES NOT MISS when putting together a project. For those of you that want quality please check out his other game Deformed. I truly haven't seen anything else like it. This game feels like a breath of fresh air. You only have a few minutes to play before you study or go to work? This is a nice game to pass the time.
Saw this in the store while browsing for new games to pick up. Nice small game with lots of potential! It has a little bit of a retro feel in the overall game design elements, but functions much more like a modern game in play. It's simple, not overly complicated, but I say that in a good way. I feel like it's very well made for where it's at so far, and I'd love to see more games like this that remind me of WC3 / SC1 & 2 custom maps.
reliving the days of old browser tower defense games
Spirit of the Dome excels at being a pretty great Tower Defense game while also adding a great layer of progression through it's Roguelite! Coming from recent games like Bad North and Wartorn this fits that great need for more strategic roguelite games that have ton of replay value while also unlocking all the spells and units as you play. I do like how you have to think outside the box a bit when a defense round begins and there is a modifier like the screen going dark that you have to change your strategy or when you units have to stay still. This adds a layer of strategy I have not seen in many games in this genre. Letting the units move creates different strategic scenarios as they play over the course of the game and especially as you go into the next few maps as the play area gets bigger. This reminds a lot of other classics like Myth: The Fallen Lords and Ancestors: Legacy in that every units counts to achieving victory especially as the waves get increasingly harder. Spirit of the Dome creates a great rich dark atmosphere that appeals to a lot of people that also can be built on from here. Wish there was a straight Skirmish mode that you can include your own modifiers and maybe have a co-op mode where there could be two spirits that need to be defended or two players have a set of units they need to defend the spirit. All in all this is a great title if you are interested in Tower Defense Roguelites.
fun little indie game. Definitely worth the price, will not waste your time or money. The challenges keep it fresh.
Lots of comments and feedback for the dev. I livestreamed this and it is available on youtube with commentary. https://www.youtube.com/live/KfPhSgL3cK4?si=lHS8BMQXTY4Qnrqt
