This is a really fun game! I bought it when it was early access and am very much looking forward to seeing the final product! Works well with the Luna controller too. Great job, Rozz!
Yes
Nice arcade racer. Driving is smooth and handles well with a controller. Graphics are very nice and varied by track. I really like many of the track layouts that will favor some cars over others. The changes that take place during races is a cool touch. The AI is pretty good. I have had good wheel to wheel battles with the AI as I pass them in the turns, but my slower (in a straight line) car gets passed back on the straights. The music is also pretty catchy. I have had just a few lockups, so pretty stable for an early access game.
I was pleasently surprised how much fun I was having. Not only does the game look really good but it also played a lot better than I thought. Racing felt very smooth and easy to handle but also had a lot of depth when it came scoring a better time. Sense of speed felt great and the music just compimented the whole experience. Usually with Arcade style racing games I'd put the controller down after racing a few laps but with SP Grand Prix I kept coming back for more. Truely an experience for those who are into this style of racing game
At the time of this review, the game is in early access so it's receiving frequent updates and new features. I've been playing this since the beginning of early access and even at that stage, it was by far my favorite retro-styled racer. This game has something special that's hard for me to put to words. I love the feel of the cars, the music, the tracks and their variety. It has a distinct feeling that sets it apart. I like other retro-styled racers as well, some of which are going for a Virtual Racing feel, but this one has its own style that I prefer. The developer listens to feedback and regularly incorporates it into updates. I look forward to seeing this game completed and I'm fully enjoying the ride along the way.
Great game in the style of Virtua Racer from the arcade. Great tracks, some very frustrating (dinosour course) and it would be nice to have an exit game option rather than a hard exit. Other than that, hours of fun, go have a go !!
Great little arcade style racing game with a nod to the likes of Virtua racing Plays wells, runs well and can't wait to see it evolve Well done 👍
A very active and friendly dev. I found out about the game on his X account and via digital foundry. Updates come literally every week.
