Spark the Electric Jester

Esse foi o jogo que provou pra mim que plataformers 2D são F0DA. Dito isso, prepare-se para enfrentar alguns problemas técnicos e bugs (menu de pause faz um pop-up de erro aparecer em alguns níveis, por exemplo).

Rough around the edges, but overall a pretty fun experience. Felt like a lot of the stages were not the most memorable in the world, both in terms of stage gimmicks and visually, but it was still a nice throwback to classic Sonic mixed with Kirby

possibly, one of the best 2D platformers I've ever touched alongside Freedom Planet 1 & 2 (and since I've finally beaten all the three games, I'll start reviewing one by one starting from Spark 1). Gameplay is less combat focused than Freedom Planet and relies more on speed and momentum, that's not a bad thing, in fact, Spark can launch himself when he gains enough speed and it's absurdly fun. The Kirby copy ability is also very neat, some powerups aren't very useful while some other are very OP during later bosses. Now here comes the story, from my previous expectations, I imagined the story to be a total disaster (fnaf type ♥♥♥♥ if you know what I mean), but thank goodness I was very wrong after playing Spark 3, it does have its own inconsistencies but it's a very nice story overall. However, if we're talking about Spark 1's story ALONE then I have to say that it's kinda of a nothing burger with some salt put into it trying to add more but failed. The whole plot revolves around Spark trying to get his job back and defeating robots from the virus but that's about it, I know that there's Fark's story but since it's not canon in this game I'm not counting it. And that's about it for the first Spark game, it's a very fun Sonic-like that I highly recommend if you love Sonic, Kirby or Megaman. I'll review the other two Spark games when I have the chance.

Ahhh Spark... Que puedo decir de ti que no se haya dicho ya? Un excelente juego que reinventa la formula de los juegos clásicos de Sonic con ciertos elementos de combate, una pizca de megaman y otra de Kirby, dan como resultado una experiencia que personalmente nunca me habría imaginado. Un gameplay muy entretenido, con elementos de combate que pueden parecer incompatibles con una filosofia de juego como lo es Sonic, se mezclan muy bien y se terminan sintiendo muy satisfactorios una vez que te acostumbras. Lo único que no me encanta es la optimización, el juego llega a tener tirones y bajones muy notables en escenas muy cargadas de elementos, pero se lo perdono por ser el gran juego que es (y porque mi PC es una basura xD) En fin, Muy recomendable!
