I loved this game on itch.io but I want it on steam. Couple of little hick ups but it's early access so it's okay! Always happy to support developers who support accessibility!
This one is really promising! There are a lot of very innovative mechanics in the game and the music is great as well! The game is difficult but teaches its mechanics in a very helpful tutorial and there are a lot of accessibility options. I love the design of the creatures but i want even MORE and there are so many build options for your creatures that i find it really hard to choose between all the different upgrades and techs and stickers. I think the game will have a lot of replayability. There were a few bugs at the start but the dev is really quick with updates, so i'd recommend to just try the game and see if you like it. the price seems pretty fair to me.
It’s definitely buggy at this stage. It’s also playful, joyful, and kind of addictive. It’s easy to pick up (roll dice, buy action, do the action) and of course, the creatures are adorably weird. But despite the simple core mechanics, it feels like that’s only the tip of the iceberg and that there’s an ocean of intricacies and counterbalances just underneath. You can sort of coast through a run or try to min max over the nitty gritty (buggy) details if you prefer. It’s almost cozy? Kind of wish this was a mobile game, because it’s great for when you don’t have a lot of time to dive into bigger titles but still want to play something. Had a fun run, and looking forward to seeing Soulblaze evolves!
is pretty good
[DE] Soulblaze ist ein Kreaturensammel (Animons) mit Würfel Mechanik und Roguelike Element, generell zeigt der Trailer wie schön das Gameplay ist, aber der Anfang spielt sich trocken und zäh zugleich. Der Spielanfang läuft so ab: Neuer Run starten, 1. Man kann nur ein Animon auswählen. 2. Wenn man Pech hat macht das erste Animon einen schon fertig. 3. und dann denkt sich der Spieler, yay jetzt kriegt man Punkte um dauerhaft seine Skills oder Attribute zu erhöhen, um beim neu starten eines neuen Runs, mit besseren Voraussetzungen zu starten, aber falsch gedacht, es fehlt meiner Meinung nach das Progression System, das das verlieren, zu etwas positives verwandeln würde. Das Spiel ist von seiner Idee her echt super, aber das bringt nichts, wenn der erste Gegner zu stark ist und man frustriert verliert. Tobis Traum Vorgang eines Runs: 1. eines von 3 Animons Auswählen können. 2. Wenn man mal verliert, investiere ich meine Punkte um meine Werte, bei Angriffswert, Verteidigung, Blocken ect, zu verbessern, dadurch ist der Spieler von Anfang mehr motiviert, es immer wieder zu versuchen. Ich bin mir sicher das der Entwickler einige Dinge daran verbessern wird, den das bricht momentan dem Spiel das Genick, meiner Meinung nach. Wenn der Entwickler dieses Problem gelöst hat, wird Soulblaze ein super schönes Spiel werden. Ich Wünsche dem Entwickler mehr Aufmerksamkeit für sein Spiel, deswegen ist immer Wichtig Feedback zu geben damit wir als Spieler mehr Spaß am Ende mit Soulblaze haben können. [EN] Soulblaze is a creature-collecting game (Animons) with dice mechanics and roguelike elements. Overall, the trailer shows just how great the gameplay is, but the beginning feels both dry and tedious. Here’s how the game starts: Start a new run, 1. You can only select one Animon. 2. If you’re unlucky, the first Animon will take you down right away. 3. And then the player thinks, “Yay, now I’ll get points to permanently boost my skills or attributes so I can start a new run with better conditions,” but that’s not the case. In my opinion, the game lacks a progression system that would turn losing into something positive. The concept behind the game is really great, but that doesn't matter if the first opponent is too strong and you end up losing in frustration. Tobi’s ideal run sequence: 1. Be able to choose one of three Animons. 2. If you lose, invest your points to improve your stats—attack, defense, blocking, etc.—which motivates the player from the start to keep trying. I’m sure the developer will improve a few things here, because right now, in my opinion, that’s what’s holding the game back. Once the developer has solved this problem, Soulblaze will be a really great game. I hope the developer gets more attention for his game, which is why it’s always important to give feedback so that we, as players, can ultimately have more fun with Soulblaze. Honestly is one of the funnest creature collectors I've played in a while - the art is stunning and the game has SO much charm to it. And even though there may be some bugs the dev is super receptive to feedback and is updating often. Super reccomend, especially if you want to support an indie dev whos anti Gen AI {and Arab!}
A very unique and promising creature collector! The critters' designs are fun and cute, and once you get the hang of all the systems the battles are really engaging and rewarding. Also, there are cute faces on so many things and who doesn't love cute faces on things!? Really looking forward to how this game grows.
If not friend, why friend shaped? So charming, you'll want to vomit lethal rainbows at your huggable opponents that hide sharp claws. Bugs are getting fixed quickly.
