With Die for the Lich, we set out to recreate the magic of playing a unique deck-builder for the first time.
We replaced cards with dice that you need to pair with your gear and the game took on a life of its own, a curious blend of strategy, chaos, and pushing your luck!

Will you strike the perfect balance between dice, weapons, abilities and trinkets?
Do you wish to always roll what you need, then find a Lucky Die.
Do you need custom made dice, then visit the Dice Fusion table.
Do you want to re-roll 1s, then grab the Eye Patch ability.
Do you think you are strong enough for a tougher battle, then seek the Blood Moon.
The options are endless and there is nothing more exciting than having your own unique journey in a chaotic world.

This game is abandoned now. It happens, I'm not mad about it. I'm leaving a negative review because the Steam page has not been updated to reflect this, and for one other reason: the game launched as a buggy mess. Constant game-breaking bugs ending my runs. I decided to come back to the game after it had been thoroughly patched but, as you can see, that won't be happening. There was potential here but it will never be fulfilled. As it is, it's not worth the time or money.
I don't normally write reviews but I am making an exception for this game. DO NOT BUY. The game has been abandoned by the developers shortly after releasing on EA. The worst part is they claim the game is on hiatus but they'll only ever come back to this if the next game, which is probably years away from being released, sells well enough to support this one. It's hard to understand the logic. But if that wasn't enough, they are still participating in festivals and promoting an abandoned game. Questionable behaviour at best. Super disappointing behaviour from the developers.
This game had potential, it is fun for a while, but they have abandoned developement without it ever leaving early access. This is barely a demo
Great little game, but abandoned by devs. The devs post that they need a break and then I read they have started development on something new? I mean you cant just make half a game, take payment for it and go " Well this didnt sell as well as we hoped, so lets start something new". If you do that then you need to refund every single purchase, or its literally a scam. Imagine the next time you buy a burger that you only get bread because the cook was tired and couldnt be asked to make the rest. And no - it doesnt help that the cook promises that one day in the distant future you will have the rest of your burger.
The "Early Access Game" card still says the it will have about 6 more months of development even 2 weeks after the devs announced they're benching this project for an undetermined amount of time. I will write and actual review when the development status is made more transparent.
I liked the concept but the devs abandoned the game. Pass on this one.
The devs have decided to abandon the game to work on new projects. This isn't unheard of with EA, but the speed at which they did this after a sale seems pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
the devs have abandonded this game. i understand not having the money to continue, but that doesnt mean i can recommend this game. it is not in a state where it would be worth paying full price for. at five dollars you might find five dollars of enjoyment out of it, but even then...i dont know that this is worth your time from a gameplay standpoint. its a cool idea and the art is rad as hell, but the game itself is unfinished and it feels unfinished. exactly the sort of treatment of a project that justifies people being angry at early access titles. you made a commitment to the people who have paid for this product and now youre going back on that. of course people are going to be upset.
The game is (was) really fun and had great potential but now when the developers have abandoned the game i can not recommend it. It feels unfinished, to short and even the "full" game feels like a expanded demo. The foundation is great and the dice building in this game is one of the better of its kind but im sad to say, as it stands its not worth your money. Personally im going to stay away from this developer since they abandon a game so close (about 5 months) after releasing it in EA.
Abandoned game. Bad decision
