One of the best and most enjoyable 2D sonic games in the franchise. It has a lot of different mechanics, easter eggs, older stages and as well new ones. I definitely recommend it!
I've played through Sonic Mania multiple times already. It is genuinely such a fun game. So many branching paths, amazing level design and an AMAZING soundtrack. The achievements were also really unique, making you do specific things in levels which I thought was really nice. The Medallion collecting was a pain in the ass though, the special stages are hell. Overall the game was really REALLY good. The ENCORE MODE DLC was also a really nice addon. It was the same levels with a bit of design changes which was quite unfortunate. I would've loved to see some brand new stages, but what we got wasn't too bad. It also marked the return of MIGHTY AND RAY! 10/10, this was a wonderful game and I don't regret purchasing this at all! Worth it 100%
