About

Construct and design buildings for optimal working conditions. Hire people to design and release software and hardware, so you can defeat the simulated competition and take over their businesses. Manage and educate your employees to make sure they are skilled and satisfied with their job.

Buy plots in a huge map to create and customize your own building. No grid necessary, just make sure there's coffee.

Craft and manufacture software and hardware products, corner your market, defeat the competition, and make them work for you.

Create and optimize teams of employees with different skills and demands to release products in a timely fashion. Why not poach a big shot lead designer from a competitor to give you the edge?

Every playthrough of Software Inc. is different, as the market is simulated and randomized. Each action you take affects how history plays out.

Great game when you get the hang of all its systems. Its complicated but when you figure it out there is not much like it out. Its like Game Dev Tycoon mixed with the Sims mixed with Mad Games Tycoon 2. If you like in-depth management games you will like this game.

Ever wanted to run your own software company without the existential dread and financial ruin? Look no further. Software Inc. is like The Sims met Game Dev Tycoon at a corporate retreat, and then they both got addicted to spreadsheets. It’s a surprisingly deep simulation game where you build offices, hire quirky employees, manage egos, and somehow launch million-dollar software while hoping your lead developer doesn’t take 8 months off for “stress.” 🖥️ What you actually do: - Design your own office buildings floor-by-floor like a caffeinated architect. - Recruit staff with highly specific traits like “likes working alone” or “hates noise” and then immediately stick them in an open-plan office next to a fax machine. - Manage development cycles, marketing, support tickets, server hosting, and eventually dominate the software world — one buggy product at a time. You’ll love it if you enjoy: - Micromanaging like a benevolent overlord. - Watching virtual money pile up while your character snoozes in a breakroom beanbag. - Creating a software monopoly while ruthlessly acquiring competitors like a pixelated Bond villain. Unexpected perks: - Employees can quit because “there’s too much poop on the floor.” Yes, that’s a real thing. - You can name your company something wildly inappropriate and still get serious business offers. - Accidentally assigning your lead programmer to clean toilets instead of finishing your flagship OS. A few things to note: - Still in early access, but impressively stable and regularly updated by a solo dev who is clearly part robot. - The learning curve is a bit steep at first (tip: pause often, mistakes snowball). - UI is functional but not the slickest — think more "indie practical" than "Apple keynote." - Buy it if you like simulation games with real depth, and don’t mind your 5-year plan being ruined by an unexpected employee revolt. - Skip it if you want fast-paced action or dislike reading tooltips more than you read actual books.
I got this game a long while ago when it was very very early access, I saw the potential in it and let it sit in my library for a long while...... I am soooo happy I came back to it! it is amazing! there is sooooo much depth to this game. The loop is sooooo fun and it doesn't drown you right away, it almost lets you slowly dip your toes in and you realize how deep the depth of the mechanics are the further you go! Buuutttt like I said it doesn't drown you! At the 31 hours I would say I still havent completed all the tutorials, which is awesome because theyre little windows for the different mechanics as you encounter them instead of throwing you all in at once. The graphics are not some crazy amazing high realistic quality, but they are crisp and homey if that makes any sense at all? The music is relaxing and lovely and even the placement of items sound that I almost always turn off is even nice for some reason. This is exactly what I was looking for recently a game that I can casually come and go from that still feels like i am making lots of progress that offers this really deep game play that doesnt dry out easily. So worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the cherry on top, regualr updates!
Only one other game like this and thats Big Ambitions. But this has multiplayer and the gameplay is drastically different. They just both scratch the itch that no other game has. So much so that I even released some mods for the game. My first ever Steam Workshop uploads... definitely worth trying and its still being worked on constantly.
Mega Cool und mit jedem Patch wird es besser und wird vertieft ich komme nicht los von dem Spiel
made 10 mil out of a garage making antiviruses, absolutely amazing game 10/10
Um dos melhores jogos de Gerenciamento/Tycoon. A evolução do início (comprei lá por 2015/16) até agora é enorme, e os desenvolvedores demonstram muita dedicação ao jogo.
