This game should be called "Try Not to Throw Your PC Out the Window Challenge"
tried to play this piece of ♥♥♥♥ with a friend and in the 7 hours weve played weve encountered constant bugs, seen several areas of the game that could just use more development or at least some polish, additionally the game is just generally very arcady for what it advertises to be but that could just be me, we have had MANY issues with bindings for our wheels and force feedback bugs trying to break them and it has enraged both of us cause we both just want to play the sim but it seems the sim doesnt want to sim anything
a really cool and surprisingly cozy game of lateral thinking and planning. nothing feels as good as pulling off a tricky route with 16 tons of cargo on your truck's back and nothing feels as devastating as making one mistake along the way that unravels into a whole situation which takes literal hours to untangle. ...and then, pulling yourself out of the mess you made for yourself somehow makes you feel even better than having pulled it off flawlessly from the get go. think of it as extra gameplay! having said all that, snowrunner definitely could explain itself a bit better to a new player. after a short tutorial that explains about half of the basics it just throws you in and lets you go wild, including in ways that can make the game really unfun for someone who doesn't know what they're doing. (for the love of all that is holy, avoid the logging contracts until you get decent equipment, and never go offroad with a load on highway tires!) I played for 30 hours before realizing bumping the clutch (aka the gear selector mode button) also acts as a gearbox kickdown, letting you downshift into an appropriate gear when your revs fall instead of stalling out and dropping back to 1st gear. I also avoided selling stuff for a while until I found out you get 100% of the money back unless you're playing on hard mode. both of these are really useful things to know. if you're an inquisitive kind of player, you'll figure it all out eventually, but maybe you shouldn't have to. there's also a ton of dlc but absolutely none of it (no, not even the tire pack) is mandatory to enjoy the game at all, it's just more stuff to do and more toys to play with. i would 100% heavily recommend getting just the base game+the free anniversary dlc and playing through it first, and then looking into the dlc. go forth and truck, my friend, and remember. loaf is king.
Overall legend game. I wish the maps were more lively and there should have been some effort done on live radio? maybe some ai trucks running around you know... :/
best game to rage when you are almost there and then just roll over and do it again. the game runs smoothly on ultra and i had 1 crash

This game holds a special place in my heart. Released during a time where everybody was indoors this game somehow made isolation feel warm, peaceful and beautiful. The background music while you’re playing is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good, it fits the vibes perfectly. Exploring and progressing through the base game maps is so fun. Don’t get me wrong. Some of the DLC maps are really fun but most of them don't come close to the original three regions. But if you beat all those maps and you want more. I suggest starting with season 1 and maybe skipping season 2 and going to season 3 and after that Season 6 and if you really want a big challenge season 4 is the hardest i believe. The game is really fun if you like driving trucks around tackling terrain and getting goods from A to B
