👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: ------------------------------------------> Smashing Time by Net-assembly is a program where we can give free rein to our aggressions. Or could... Because even if Smashing Time looks quite good at first sight and offers quite a lot of content for the price, the control sometimes builds up more aggression than the game releases. But at least the author is busy improving this little program. So the control should be revised soon. Currently there is teleport, which I didn't try (maybe I should have) and free movement with snapturn. Unfortunately, we always slide into walls or get stuck on objects. The physics is good, but expandable. Our hands collide with all objects, meaning we can't reach through objects. Very good. Throwing objects is a bit lousy. Shattered objects break into calculated pieces, which were too big with for the most part. We can walk, run, climb and we seem to have something like health. If we don't watch out when we run riot, we can also hurt ourselves. But I did not die during the test. Smashing Time lets us loose on four different scenarios that we can destroy to our heart's content. A museum, the Oval Office, an apartment and a café are at our disposal. There are also an almost infinite number of weapon types at our disposal, once we have played them freely. All slashing and striking weapons, as far as I have tested them, have correct physics. I can't tell with the firearms, as I haven't figured out how to load them or where to find ammo. Other objects like lighters and spray cans or grenades are also very difficult and not intuitive to use. I tried more and more all the buttons and eventually one worked, or not. (With index controllers) But it is great that we can work artistically with the pens not only on paper.... All in all, Smashing Time is a little fun for in between, which will be even more fun if it runs properly. So a thumbs up; the price is lower than for a pack of ♥♥♥♥. 👀Completely Destroyed Reviews can be found on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
Hoisted with its own Petard. A neat little gem, still too rough to be thoroughly enjoyed. Nice presentation, the weapon/area selection is nice and the destruction isn't half-bad but it's sorely lacking in good controls. I literally cannot enjoy this fully because the controls are so terrible. It doesn't even have smoothturn or walk and somehow you can't one-hand a melee weapon properly, like it always expects you to go two-handed. Teleport or grab based movement atm. Edit: Controls are okay now, I think the real issue now is the lag.
game is not good at all. it looks so smooth in the video but when you get in game it's like everything is in slow motion. not to mention this game is teleport only.
Terrible. Smooth movement was not even close to smooth. Feels like you are lurching around. Horribly optimized. Gravity and physics are super off. Guns don't shoot. Most of the destructible objects don't have any weight. Many objects continue to twitch forever after they are broken or knocked over. I know this was only $3 but it was not worth even that. Can't say I would recommend this even if it was free.
it's literally a game where you break things with no objective what more could you want? just needs better optimization, content, polish, better physics and workshop support than it will be the best destruction game of all time. it's also 4 dollars so atleast they know it's not worth an absurd amount of money.
Looked like fun, but it is extremely glitchy still.
I got reallllyyyy excited seeing this. One thing, maybe when making this Trump was president? Because I foubd it really weird how much of a hard on you have of Trump and wanting to destroy his pictures in the office. Things I enjoyed, breaking glass and watching the roof fall. Things I didn't like, weapons were weightless so it was extremely awkward trying to smash something and I understand how ridiculously hard the physics would have to be in the gane for it in VR but I can't help it, it's awkward and hard to smash things. Taking a piss and crap on things so awesome! Hahaha It's alright I hope the physics can be fixed and breaking things are automatically loaded so when you break it, its breaks the same way if that makes sense. Like if I were to take a chainsaw to something it would automatically fall apart instead of sawing through it. If updates are going to be made I'm all! in if not ehhhh maybe not. Fun 1 or 2 times that's it.
Glitchy, especially once you start breaking items or moving around. I love the idea of breaking objects with many different weapons, you can truly break anything with anything you have If they ever fix the issues I'll play again.
Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. Smashing Time is a physics sandbox with extremely janky everything: movement, item interactions and object destruction. Melee weapons handling is awful especially for two-handers. Firearms are underwhelming, so longbow is the only fun and properly functioning weapon here. Archery feels very similar to The Lab, from responsive drawing feedback to bouncy arrow physics, but it can't save the game alone. Damage done to objects is very inconsistent: sometimes you can't break a small wooden structure with a hammer and other times you crack stone sculptures with an arrow. Smooth thumbstick movement barely works and becomes even worse when the floor is covered with rubble. On the other hand, "world gripping" locomotion is quite good. P.S. It works fine on Reverb G2.
Playing through Smashing Time’s half dozen levels was a great time as I got to experiment with lots of the tools and weapons that we’ve been provided. My favorite moment was drawing swearwords with chalk on blackboards in the classroom before smashing all the things. This was in the new School Update which apparently released two whole months after launch. As for the comfort settings of the game, it was actually fairly easy for me – player locomotion worked mostly pretty well, though there is a need for a clearly reachable comfort settings menu. I did have a small issue with being disoriented when I first loaded into the game, mostly because the load screen looked so bizarre to me. Smashing Time plays great, even on my 1060 graphics card. Flipping tables, smashing glass bottles, shooting wall art, spray-painting all over the place, it felt really fun. This game is truly unique, as a product only the magic of VR and indie VR developers could bring us. I’m hoping to see more from this developer, as they've shown a lot of potential, hard work, and a style of humor that I appreciate. Played using a copy of the game sent by the developer through the Curator Connect platform.
