Slime Rancher 2

Really dissapointed in the game. While the first slime rancher had so much content, ive already finished this one in less than 16 hours of gameplay, without even speedrunning it. The last zone is also the definition of hell, with overwhealming amounts of useless ♥♥♥♥ and with the maps not being discovered until you have finished the entire zone making them completely useless, ive honestly expected much more from the devs, at least for that pricetag that the game is locked behind.

very joyous and whimsy! I love this game, if you liked the first one I'd highly reccomend it, it feels like the first game on a larger scale with the lab mechanics more integrated into the gameplay instead of off to the side. The lighting and colors are lovely, it just took some time for my eyes to adjust to the change in brightness and vibrancy from the first game. I very much enjoy being able to place gadgets anywhere to do shenanigans, and being able to buy decorations is really nice to have. Fire slimes are a lot less volatile in this one too, so I didn't have to worry about them dying if left unattended for too long, and the yolky slimes are super cute! yayayayaya this game is great, my only complaints are that you can't buy specific slime toys easily, you have to wait for the one you want to show up in the shop, and that they left out fashion pods, color customization, rad slimes, mosaic slimes, quantum slimes, and quicksilver slimes, otherwise great game!

I think game has some highs and some lows. Personally I think its a step below the first game as it feels more like a sandbox without any direction. I think it gives you more to do progression wise and there is a greater need to use your plorts rather than just selling them as everything is required for crafting upgrades. But the first game gave you slime keys when you bursted gordos and thats not in this game and i feel like that was needed to provide some direction. Because its not here, maybe the focus was more on sandbox, but for me it just isn't what i enjoy in these games.
