Reviews
A delightfully creepy and twisted puzzle game that acts as a perfect intro to the whole Rusty Lake world. The premise of solving room puzzles to literally cook the hotel guests for dinner is brilliantly dark. Most of the escape-room puzzles are satisfying, though a couple of them suffer from that classic, annoying point-and-click "moon logic." It's short and spooky, even if the later games in the series ended up doing it better.
Much more cozy and lighthearted compared to the Cube Escape games if you could call a game about killing your hotel guests cozy. Moving on to the next Rusty Lake game, I'm genuinely hooked.
This is just a superb point and click puzzle game, with a suite of mostly unusual (a few been there done that puzzles, but not bad at all) puzzles that require some thought, but are almost never galaxy brained in nature, and bolstered by a deliciously macabre atmosphere (from the writing, to the graphics, to the music). I mean, really, this is an excellent game, by a studio who are practically masters of the genre. Note that I played through it twice (once most recently when achievements were added), so the play time is roughly 1/2 of what it shows. Highly recommended!
Honestly, this game made me feel like a Michelin-star chef.
This Hotel was built upon a Rusty Lake, perhaps we could use these Cubes to Escape.... Rusty Lake Hotel takes place in the Cube Escape universe, it takes place after Cube Escape: The Mill and before Cube Escape: Birthday, it took me about 4 hours to beat the whole game Some of the puzzles are unfun and seem to just be random so I had to use a walkthrough for some bits but overall a very good game with nice music too
Nice little puzzly goober
