About
The ultimate roguelike deckbuilder returns!
For 1,000 years, the Spire lay dormant, its secrets buried and its horrors forgotten. Now, it has reopened, hungrier and more dangerous than ever, devouring all who dare to ascend.
New perils demand sharper strategies, relentless cunning, and unwavering resolve. Outwit the Spire’s brutal trials and uncover the truths hidden at its peak.
Will you attempt the climb alone or enlist the aid of your fellow adventurers?
Step into the newly evolved Spire, a twisted labyrinth teeming with strange and deadly foes. Adapt to an arsenal of brand new cards, relics, and potions, each offering game-changing possibilities—or dangerous consequences.
Climb the Spire with a new and returning cast of characters, each with their own cards, motives, and secrets.
No two climbs are ever the same. Unpredictable challenges and evolving strategies await those brave—or foolish—enough to ascend.
Brave the ascent on your own, or play with up to 4 players and face the Spire together in the all new co-op mode. Discover multiplayer-specific cards, powerful team synergies, and carry your friends (or get carried) to victory!

Embark on your quest to Slay the Spire as one of five different characters, some of whom will be familiar to seasoned Slayers and two of whom who are brand new. Discover each character’s unique playstyle, full potential, and secret backstory as you conquer all who stand in their way.
The history of the Spire and its inhabitants, be they friend or foe, can now be discovered in entirely new ways. Unlock fragments of its mysterious timeline and encounter the most ancient of its residents through your myriad attempts.
The Spire truly is ever-changing… in more ways than one. More content—including cards, events, environments, enemies, and more—will be added and balanced throughout Early Access. Join the journey early to be a part of the Spire’s next evolution.
Why release in Early Access, you ask? Slay the Spire's success comes from our community! It sounds corny, but the extra mile many of you went to report issues, translate content/announcements, create long video essays, make excellent (lol) tier lists, and draw goofy or gorgeous fan art is the reason we're doing it all again. We love our job!

Reviews
This game is fun, and is more or less what you would be expecting from a deckbuilder rogue like. It is undeniably rough around the edges in several glaring ways, but that is to be expected with an early access game. The reason I am not recommending this game and joining the hate wagon, so to speak, is that 2 player coop remains completely and utterly unbalanced. And while I do respect that this game is in early access and thus deserves some leniency, I did pay for this game and I am entitled to publicly air my grievances rather than just shouting into the abyss of the in-game feedback menu. An example of the poor multiplayer balance is the Test Subject, an Act 3 boss, which has a phase where he gains strength whenever a player uses a skill card, just like the Gremlin Nob from the first game. This does not sound like a problem, until you discover that he gains this strength for everyone whenever anyone plays a skill. This creates a situation where players are forced to either ration their health for a few turns, paying an absolutely enormous quantity and likely tanking the rest of the fight, or a player sacrifices themselves so that the other can scale and hopefully have a shot at winning the fight. At face value, this simply is not enjoyable. I do not like having to inescapable pay half of my health to avoid sinking the team. There is no finesse, no skill, no complex decision making in the situation presented here. I would maybe be willing to bitterly accept this as “just a part of the game” or “multiplayer quirk” or whatever, but they recently changed an elite enemy called the Infested Prism to do the same thing as the Test Subject, except each player scales it individually, meaning they are free to play how they like without putting their teammates in jeopardy. Clearly, at some level, they understand that how the Test Subject scales is not healthy in multiplayer. Why else would they not have the Infested Prism function the same way? The whole situation is baffling to me honestly. It feels very demoralizing to fight your way through an A10 climb with your friend, only to lose at the very end to an enemy the developers refuse to balance. This game has a lot of potential and I urge the developers to not neglect coop. It should be viewed as a core part of the game and its balance should be of upmost priority. This review is negative, and I do stand by that. I do not recommend this game currently. However if you are looking for more Slay the Spire after playing the first game and only intend to climb solo than this game is probably for you.
For me, it is a disappointing sequel. Waiting 7 years for a game that is essentially DLC for the original. It is really sad too, because I loved the original.
