Skull's Impossible Quest

It's been a blast watching all of the improvements and new systems added to Skull's over the past year. The addition of free movement and branching skill trees have added real meat to the gameplay. 10/10 - would swing in circles again!

Это просто гениальная боевка, не понимаю как никто ни додумался превратить мышку в оружие. Второй плюс это очень веселые диалоги между черепом и импом. Русского языка пусть и нету, но большинство диалогов не так уж и сложно понять,хоть и не все. Пока в игре не так уж и много всего, но в раннем доступе, за такую цену и с такой уникальной боевкой эту игру определенно стоит хотя бы попробовать.

Not all games need to be 20+ hour slog fests. Some games can be a fun 2-3 hour tight game. Skull's Impossible Quest has a fun tight game mechanic and it was a good few hours of fun. Also it has puns. Lots of puns.

It won’t blow you away with innovation, but this dungeon crawler will keep you entertained for a few hours. The gameplay is quite unique. You play as a magical skull who persuades a simple imp to assist you in your escape. Skull is unable to walk, yet it is protected by a massive weapon. Although you can play with a controller, using a mouse provides you much more control and makes the experience less frustrating. There are several challenges that require precision that the gamepad cannot give. Attacking is accomplished by swiping the mouse around the screen. It doesn’t matter which of the three weapons you choose, they all attack in the same circle pattern and handle the same. While the skull is in charge of attacks, the imp is in charge of movement. You must defend him from enemies because he is slow and useless. The twelve stages are all the same. You must walk around, defeat enemies, and search for an exit. Enemies keep coming and you don't get anything for killing them. Puzzles are simple. You only need to use the sword to light all of the braziers. However, you can only do this when all of the enemies in the vicinity have been eliminated. This can cause problems. You can't go looking for enemies because an imp usually gets entangled in magical vines. You must either wait for enemies to appear or let them die offscreen. Because this can take a while, it appears like the game is bugged each time this occurs. Fortunately, this only happens in the first two stages. After that, there are no more puzzles. There is also some upgrading included. Each stage has seven chests, each containing a coin. Most are found right on the path, but at least one boss stage hides them at the edge of the screen that makes them impossible to see. These coins can be placed in a basic skill tree, which will add some new skills or attacks to your arsenal. Skills have a cooldown, but it is short. This is more of a side activity because you may complete the game without purchasing a single upgrade. Decisions made during dialogues are another thing that makes no difference. The script is amusing, and interaction between the skull and the imp has a couple of funny gags. However, regardless of your decisions, the outcome is the same. The bad part is that you can’t skip conversations, so you will need to go through them each time you play a stage. Achievements work, but they unlock only when you close the game.

0/10 Идея драться курсором казалась забавной - вот только реализована она ужасно. Игра технически недоделана, криво считывает движения мыши и удары, нет никаких комбо или фигур, которые надо изобразить - просто дергай мышку в разные стороны. Отврат.

This is a spectacularly PUNNY game! It definitely elicits several chuckles and a lot of LOL moments. You can tell that the indie developer poor a lot of heart and soul into this game. The effort really shows with the wonderful graphics, the fun game play, the wonderful upgrading system. I can help but recommend this game for anyone who likes to swing pointy things furiously around your head. The puzzles are good but not overwhelming. You will get your money's worth of entertainment out of this game and help support a developer that cares about his craft. Keep it up, loved the game.

Fun game with unique controls. I'd recommend trying it with a gamepad.
