Awesome game. I got it on sale very cheap without any expectations and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Nice story, nice gameplay, nice graphics/art design + relaxing music makes of this game an incredible immersive and enjoying experience. I just finished the game and now I'm going for the "platinum"; exploration with the character movement/mechanics is so much fun!!
Enchanting fun
Not recommended - it is terribly unoptimized and the gameplay is of the dull follow-the-trail sort. The voice acting is kind of basic, kills the adventuring momentum and frankly is worse than nothing. It never rises above the boredom and fails to provide a reason for the player to care. It is just another example about how hard cultural games tend to blow chunks. There are no options for lowering the resolution bellow 720p. It is dumb to use technical limitations to force a higher resolution and that way drastically worsen the game performance. The frame rate was super low despite the gameplay having only static assets so far. I got this game from a Fanatical Mystery Bundle.
I enjoyed my time with this game. Getting a glimpse at a culture I wouldn't normally interact with lead to me thinking more deeply on what might be happening in the plot, and left me extra curious for when its sequel eventually comes out. Definitely does more to set up the world than you would expect on the first playthrough, so I look forward to seeing more someday.
Skabma is a game that feels taken from the mid 2000s, having some strangely dated features and feeling unpolished in animation, character designs, and somewhat unintuitive level design. At the same time this game gives you a powerful game design feature that connectes you thematically, guides you and fills you into the world with it's drum. the music design is half the time amazingly wonderful in it's complemantary form of drum and music. but it's not all the time. The story isn't done - and looking at Red stage's other works it seems like the sequelbait will stay bait. This game is a love letter to sami culture, and I love the fact that it exists! While it's unfortunately a very much unpolished gemstone of a game, I do still really recommend it. The way it's unpolished is interesting in game design and the way it suceeds is even more interesting that way. this game is great, but it's not a great game.
Finished Skábma Snowfall
Really a breath of fresh air. The story and Sámi culture felt authentic and genuinely unique. The concept of interacting with spirits using the drum is something I haven’t seen before. Gameplay is relaxing for most of the part, and unlocking abilities gradually keeps things engaging. Visually, the game looks good, but it can feel inconsistent — sometimes too smooth and bloomy, other times too dark (had to rely on NVIDIA filters). Physics also feels a bit off in places, and optimization isn’t the best either — I experienced stutters and FPS drops, and it doesn’t seem to support DSR. I also ran into a progression bug after continuing the game where I got stuck and had to load an older save. I do wish there were more puzzle-heavy sections, because the core mechanics had more potential.

Despite the drawbacks, it’s an impressive indie title with a unique identity. Looking forward to a sequel with more content, polish, and expanded mechanics.
7.5/10
Très bon jeu qui nous fait réfléchir sur notre mode de vie actuel. Les musiques vont bien avec l'ambiance du jeu et j'ai aimé les mécaniques. Je recommande ce jeu !
Got it for a university research project about the representation of folklore and cultural heritage in digital games. I was absolutely enamored with the world they created and the story they told. Can't wait for the next game!
Как-то всё дёрганно. При максимальных настройках графики проседают фпс, и картинка не выглядит красивее. Может проблемы с оптимизацией. Одежда багуется
